Can you imagine actually being paid to do this for a living?

Bentley Burma.  I would have taken it just as it looks there.....

Proper snow in those days.

Someone spent a crazy amount of money turning that into a racer. Going to LHD won't have been exactly cheap either. Wonder if 26 grand represented a loss?

It will be a logbook job - someone saw a pic of an old 105 1750GTV, long since dead (mid eighties latest), applied for the V5 and built a car into it.

Not a problem though.  Looks nice.

I wondered what it was and thought it was a Rover P5 crossed with a Silver Shadow

Pretty much sums it up....Straight six with a bodyshell that emerged as the Shadow/T Series.   The proposed final version would have had a "proper" Bentley appearance but like I said, I preferred the mule!

Looks like a Scottish Blackhouse?

More Scotlandshite from pics of rural houses. Sunbeam. But what's that on the left?

Is it bad I got that right without scrolling down?

The 5 litre Zodiac - 'This Q car has been the personal transport of ex-racing driver, ex-patriot, ex-baronet John Whitmore'.

Now he sounds interesting - denouncing the peerage and becoming a Soviet citizen. Except according to Wiki he remained Sir John Henry Douglas Whitmore, 2nd Baronet up until his death in 2017. So why should the press in the '60s be so damning of him? Shirly it's only the modern days papers that make things up? Anybody know why the press should have branded him as an 'ex-patriot' and 'ex-baronet'?

I did get excited to see that he was a pioneer of the 'executive coaching industry'. I imagined him running a fleet of slightly mouldy dog eared 'executive' class Supremes.

Turns out his 'executive coaching' was in fact the usual management training nonsense, although he seems to have done well in the field with various books and honours.

He also owned a modified 1974 Ro80 (Mazda 12A, Koni suspension) which he ran for a number of years. Dunno who owns it now.

This one may be a re-post, or borrowed from here, don't remember.

I really like these apartments with built-in garages.

It's like a 1982 experiment, which car is going to completely turn to rust first?

I can smell the 'damp carpet Datsun' smell from that 120Y just looking at this pic.

Is that a FA Victor estate, 3rd car back?

Yes, although I've only heard them being referred to as 'Victor F.'  'Fs' used to be notorious for rusting from the inside out and also for having noisy back axles after relatively few miles.  It is remarkable how many have survived.  Dad had an FB estate,  a much better car and more rust resistant than the F i.e. still largely structurally intact after 5 years.

Harris Mann concept drawing which eventually became the Princess. Fantastic undated pic.

Did Lotus see this pic before the Elite was designed?

Being able to park near the shops you need to get too, what a crazy* old fashioned idea.

Excuse the Half-Viva, but I had to join two pics. 194 Broad Lane in Birmingham in 1979 and as it is now shows quite succinctly the utter cuntery of Brits. How we or back handed corrupt, short sighted wanker councillors will take a pleasant, middle class (or just pleasant) street in a city and turn it into a raging shit hole, a disgusting effrontery of all that's decent. Just FUCKING LOOK AT IT!!  :-(

^ It does look totally rubbish now. How can that be allowed to happen?

Oh man, that black paint . . . who thought that would be a good idea?

So cluttered too.

Hotspur Hotel a few photos back is (was - now a private house) in Allendale Town, an area well known for plenty of snow.
