Abandoned car thread? You wouldn't find young tykes smashing up abandoned cars now-a-days, oh no.

Assuming this is a mid-to-late 1960s shot, that Lowline (now even lower-line) Zephyr was not even 10 years old - UDP999 is a December 1959 issue.   They have already kicked shit out of the Minx, just hope the Riley owner comes back for his car soon.....

Location is Southampton but uncaptioned - I reckon it is James St next to the church.

Bloody youth of today yesterday, I thought we'd told them to stop smashing up/climbing over old cars?

Check out the rimz on the Mk1 Cappa. But are they gen Dunlop D1 alloys or plastic Autoplas push-ons from local motor factors?

Pic labelled Glasgow 1969.

Again doesn't look very rusty. But lots of 50's cars were knackered and so out of date by the early 60's no one cared. The wanted a pastel green Cortina not something associated with post- war austerity. Cars however were expensive in the late 40's so depreciation was excessive really.
