I know of one that drives going for £600, but if you can get a running jag for under a monkey you're a legend or living in the 70's.

My Father managed to get a poo brown XJ6 4.2 series 1 Daimler Sovereign for £150 with tax and test which was in quite good order and ran well if you only used one of the petrol tanks...

 

But that was in 1984 so if you can build yourself a time machine and go back to the early to mid 80s you should be able to get a tidy one for your money.

 

But I'm sure £500 will get you a leggy early base petrol model X/S type with cloth and rot..

If it was my money I would wait a bit and try and save a grand for a decent example.

To drive a Roller home for 500 quid would be a worthwhile challenge.
