I don't use a car daily, but my main cars seem to be getting younger.  1991 Rover 416 shares duties with the 1992 Cavalier, and I'll have a 1994 Rover 220 in a few weeks when I collect it from Phil.  That's probably as new as I'll get as I don't fancy cars with immobilisers and alarms after owning a few late 90s ones that were a pain in the arse in that regard.

Had not realised you had bashed it, I either missed it or was pissed when you posted it. What happened?

No doubt any superficial damage will only add to its charm.

Was driving out to get my lunch at Christmas and drove into a car park. The car park wasn't quite level and due to the surface being more or less sheet ice I slid down the car park at an angle frantically trying to either steer uphill or stop. As the Council Estate still has Federal Familykillers on it I promptly skittled half a dozen wheeliebins before casually demolishing a wall.

Naturally in true AS tradition I bought a 940 estate and parked up the Council Estate until I got round to it. Still haven't.

Mine seem quite young in comparison but I'd like to point out that the '87 944 that the fair lady barefoot uses for her 54 mile daily round trip has been owned by us for 20 years and has covered 262,000 miles.

Does that count?

I can't compete now as my daily is less than a year old, but back in 1987 it was this

At the time it was fifty years old, with cable operated brakes, back to front Meadows gearbox with no synchro and no hood, cars have come on a long way since that. Daily commute was walkable, but I did use it for work site visits and every weekend for a 200 mile round trip to see family.

Mrs Tetley has a 94 Shogun/Pajero of the 2.5 td variety, in which I would take great pleasure in burning.

Hateful thing.

My 1958 Minx is nearing completion: there has been a delay caused by a rubbish paint match, meaning I need to paint more of the car than I wanted (will update the appropriate thread in due course). However once it is done, it will be my daily driver until they start salting the roads.

i cant compete with age, however my choice in commuting transport all have had reputations for exponential probability for failure to proceed and mechanical catastrophe as mileage increases.

Between mid 11 and 13 my daily 500miles a week bahnschtormer was my '78 estelle of which 'yawn blathering anecdote not nigel farage, kitcar, tsw alloys, pifco ecu etc' had sat for 27 years when i purchased it which didnt seem to be too much an issue as it did 52000 in 2 years 90% of which was keeping up with traffic flow on the m1 commuting between 29 and 37.

current M1 blaster is the H plate Rover mini austin morris metro which is showing mild signs of OMGHGF judging from the header tank but this will be fixed whenceforth it becomes troublesome
