Old jap car problem finding parts.

Recommended Posts

I managed to scrape the old colt though its mot by the skin of its teeth,  the shocks have just lost the will to stop the car bounce like a kangaroo on heat.

I have searched and found only kyb part numbers but according to the supplier the fronts are no longer available due to a tsunami destroying a storage complex the size of a small city. apparently kyb are not going to replace stocks for old cars so this leaves me with a problem.

The rears are supposedly the same a hyundia pony and are on ten day turn around but I have no idea what will fit the front and it will get a bit costly just buying inserts or struts willy nilly on the of chance I could make one fit,

Does anyone have any ideas on a way forward here without having to resort to some crappy coil overs.

Blueprint Parts, Mitsu Mech in Darlington and Australian eBay.

I've tried blue print and they only start with parts for the later colt 84 on

Will give chris at mitsi mech a call see if he has any leads.

Ausie ebay might be worth a try as they may have stock stored.

How olt is your Colt? Is your olt Colt as olt as my olt Colt?

Tiz  1979 1400 glx what age is yours?

Find a bike suspension specialist and see if they can rebuild them . I know a bloody good one in Cornwall

Have you tried mitsubishi direct? I have an 86 lancer and an l300 van. My local dealer has been really helpful, yes some of the bits are dear but he's managed to find me most bits.

I do have a similar problem with a subaru pick up I have but as a last resort aussie ebay lists the rear shocks I need but costs are high .

this car has the original oil shocks and I really don't think they can be rebuilt, if I cant find some then worth a try as a last resort,

If you still can't find the struts for your colt, we have the original struts for the vehicle KC4038. We deal in 1945-85 mostly Euro and Japanese vehicles. Hard to find parts. Classicgarage.com or our Ebay listing under automotiveessentials. Most things are not on our website though, maybe only 10%. So if you don't see what you're looking for you can always call us.
