Very good Jeeves, leave it round the back would you?

So...if my car breaks down whilst I'm out and about, would my Silver AA Relay Membership allow me to send the car on to a recovery destination whilst I bail out and make my own merry way at a later date?

I've never been too sure and I don't want to call up and clarify in case it jinxes the journey I'm attempting to make.

If you are not with the car then they won't take it straight to the destination. It will probably spend a couple of days sitting in a motorway service area unattended. I had a customer sent a car to me unattended and they say it should be delivered within 48 hours but it took 3 days to arrive. They also managed to completely wreck the engine it had a big end knock when it left and a rod through the side when it got here.

Mine states they will send the car anywhere, like home or a garage, and I can make my onwards journey. Maybe they send it to a holding yard somewhere and it gets taken when they can, like a relay race.

Thanks chaps - may embark on this adventure Saturday and hope it gets there Sunday...

Not AA but RAC. When my Kangoo broke its suspension in Cornwall they gave me a hire car to get home and relayed the Kangoo back to Lancashire. It took two days to get home - according to the paperwork they left in it, it changed trucks in Exeter and had a night at the place in Birmingham next to the M6 before coming back here. Brilliant service though, was as happy about having a car with a snapped torsion bar as possible under the circumstances...

Last time I tried this, my BX sat at the side of the road for about three days before they actually deigned to move it.
