Why is it that even after all this time whenever I read "A-series" I get all excited that there will be 2cv content.

It's an old pushrod four, just presumed it was an A, even though it clearly goes into a rear wheel drive car at the end.

They did make A series for RWD applications though, think Minor, Marina etc.

I like the film, really well made.  Can't help thinking the rebuild would have taken half the time if they'd skipped the photography though...

You just got to love those old pushrod four pots.

Your six year old could put one together,

Just as well really as they needed a rebuild regular.

 

I have to say mind that I had a Triumph 1500 Dolomite that had a big end knock when I was given it,

previous owner said it's always done that!

 

I banged a few thousand miles on it decided to give it a service, found the timing far too far advanced and the

mixture screwed right back.

It didn't knock anywhere nears as bad on start up after that and was still running  when I gave it to it's

next owner.

He ran it for 9 months then bridged it.

People should label things better.
