Goodbye old friend. Enjoy the Emerald Isle :(

Well, it's finally happened I've sold the Celica. The one car I never thought I'd actually part with. But, hard facts are that it isn't getting used, I'm skint and it's wasted just sitting in the garage.

So, after a phone call from an enthusiastic no-nonsense gentleman from Cork, a few emails pinged back and forth and a significant bank transfer, it has now gone.

Part of the deal was that I would deliver it to Bootle docks so it could be loaded onto the ferry, so here is the brief story.

Picked up a self drive transporter from a local tyre place. £50 for half a day didn't seem too bad, but if I'm honest, I was a bit worried what I might get. No probs. 11 reg Mitsubishi Canter.

Sett off home, and collected the car. Last shot on the drive at Sporty Towers.

Then loaded up and ready to go.

Off we went on an uneventful journey to Bootle with my little helper.

Got there, more pics, both for the buyer, and for me.

And that's it. It should have sailed last night, and docked this morning. Buyer is having it collected from Dublin and taken to him in Cork. Hopefully, he'll be as happy with it as I was.

Now, although I shouldn't, I've started to search for a replacement. If it costs less than I got for this, then I can justify it. Can't I?

If it's not getting used then would the next car you buy not just be mothballed too?

That must have been a hard car to part with. My Coupe has sat in the garage for nearly 2 years and I'm skint too but I know I'll never sell it. Had it nearly 9 years!

I suppose if it needs must like, but me being me, I'd have just kept until finances improved. Hopefully it'll enjoy a great life just as it did with you.

I'd love something like that but would hate the thought of it turning to dust around me.

To be fair, I wasn't so skint that it HAD TO GO, but it was a case of if it brings good money it can go. It brought good money ;-) Also, it hadn't been on the road for nearly six years, which was a real shame.

As far as a replacement for it not getting used, if I get something, it'll be a bit newer with rear belts so I can use it with kids.

Ive seen a Corrado! Hmmmm.....
