I'm hoping you guys can help as you're all much more knowledgable than me on such things...

My in-laws are looking for something to replace their Vectra estate. They don't want anything any bigger but it has to be that kind of size 'cos they are rubbish at packing and sometimes go away for weeks at a time towing their folding camper - the combo can be seen here in a natural habitat.

As they are getting on a bit they could do with something easier to get in an out of too - the main reason for getting rid of the Vectra. We've been wondering about something like a Megane Scenic or a Zafira as they're a bit taller? Anyone any ideas? Must be GR8 4 TOWING & TRIPS 2 TESCOS.

Almera Tino? I know zilch about them, might be a better chance of finding a decent one as they probably sold better when new to older private buyers?

Friends of mine have an 04 Zafira Diesel that they're very fond of and always recommending, I haven't had much first hand experience of it myself though. Any idea of your in-laws' budget?

Berlingo 2.0HDi - cheap as chips, budget towcar of the year 2003, boot bigger than St Pauls cathedral. Sit up and beg seating - perfect for people with less than gymnast type bodies. Similar length to a Xsara - GR8 for parking at tescoCons:FUGLYFRENCH - that said mine has done 60K and nothing has gone tits up at all

Just keep away from the 2.0DTi Zafira. GR8 4 REKKING FULE PUMPS AT £1000 PUR TYME.

Thanks for ideas so far :D I guess their budget would be a few k. Yaris Verso would be too small for them I think Welf. Berlingo is along the right lines though Ted, cheers. Not sure how taken they are by French cars though.I have suggested V8 Rover 75 wagon, a Volvo 850 T5 or a Mk1 Espace as I wouldn't mind inheriting them
