Well, thought it was time to say howdy to all seeing as been lurking in the dark corners of this here forum.

Seems to be the sort of place i'd hang out at,if it were a place.....

I have a history of buying seemingly "lost causes",spending a decent amount of time and money on it,then getting rid as soon as something more alluring comes along

Current fleet consists of

Pug  306 Xsi (daily)

Iveco Daily 35s12 (dog van)

Suzuki RF900  (toy)

Honda MTX80 (next project)

Always on the lookout for the next BIg Thing, and must admit a calling toward a Volvo Estate !

So,Howdy !

I love my Volvo estates, and I couldn't be less Scottish if I was Vulcan!  However: welcome Andy, I'm sure it won't take you long to find one... ;-)   Wait a moment, didn't someone offer one in another thread today?

Edit: yes they did, it was Sigmund Fraud on the Sierrashite thread.

306- the last of the proper pugs! Designed when pug still built cars rather than polystyrene packages. Great machines, I loved my xud engined turbo.

Therefore you need a proper Volvo and this means rear wheel drive! A venerable 240 is wonderful or a looney 900 turbo, 740s bit thin on the ground these days. You won't regret it. You are obviously leaning towards the lifestyle of a giffer so I fully expect your fleet to become more beige, angular and you'll grow out of the mad motorbike once you find your pipe doesn't fit under the helmet and go and buy a sensible vehicle Luke an Austin Maxi, (you do know the front seats fold fully back so you can sleep in almost a proper bed?) How can someone so clearly WINNER have an MTX80 and a Peugeot 306 yet own an Iveco too? INSANE.

Welcome along!

Cheers,

306 has been a bit of a surprise tbh.Never really rated French car's in the past due to 2 Megane disasters !

Had a 306 TDi estate as a runaround/pizza delivery car back when I owned a pizza/kebab shop but that ate it's cambelt

Picked this up as a winter runaround for £400 with 12m mot/6m tax as the PO 's better half was fed up of trying to fit 3 nippers and assoc. tat into it

2ltr 16v goes very very well, and corners nicely with the usual lift-off oversteer

The MTX80 was a field bike that I managed to rescue from the local toe-rags.Needs a full resto so I'm busy stocking up on parts as and when I find them

Ah,the Iveco! Bought as base for a day-van/dog hauler. We have 3 Husky/Malamute's so the back is getting caged out for them, and a small kitchen area up front for us.

Love to get back to RWD.My last "proper" car was an '84 Manta 1.8s hatch.

Had it stolen from Ellesmere back in '09 but managed to find it 1yr later at a scrappy near Shrewsbury, when the yard owner put the seats and parts for sale on Ebay !!
