seth Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 That dealership hoard is amazing! Stuff inside looks in pretty good nick!
Guest Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Seeing pictures of that old MG-Rover dealership, I feel like all my christmas' have come at once. Splendid!
Gompo Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 This is still taxed.. Great pics + finds as always - cheers.
pogweasel Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 No it isn't. The vehicle details for BBA 940T are:Date of Liability 01 02 2009Date of First Registration 07 11 1978Year of Manufacture 1977Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3500CCCO2 Emissions Not AvailableFuel Type PetrolExport Marker Not ApplicableVehicle Status SORN Not DueVehicle Colour YELLOWVehicle Type Approval nullThe information contained on this page is correct at the time of enquiry.Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle 6 Months Rate £101.7512 Months Rate £185.00But someone is keeping up with the SORN paperwork so obviously not totally forgotten. Hang about, that says 3500cc. Bit piddly isn't it?
Heep Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 The base engine for '77 Camaros was the 4100cc six, and even that only had 110bhp (though 195 lb-ft). Perhaps it's a 350ci V8 (5700cc) and they took the 350 to mean 3500cc?
Richard Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Maybe it's been given a Rover V8 at some point in its life.
Ratdat Posted December 29, 2008 Author Posted December 29, 2008 Maybe it's been given a Rover V8 at some point in its life. That's the most likely, I reckon.

Pete-M Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Just spotted this monster for sale in a roadside field this morning. GR8 4 apocalypse survival! Maybe survival sleeping in the back but with that huge V8 petrol engine and Russian electrics I think I'd prefer to take my chances in this As the owner of a Tatra 805 I have to say that you're mad. The electrics on the old military stuff are leagues ahead of what the Soviets put on their cars. My 805 is approaching 53 years old, was abandoned in a shed for about 10 years but electrically it's absolutely blob on. A good mate of mine out there has a Praga truck (6x6 - GR8 4 getting home in 2m of snow) and that is equally over-engineered to death. Just a shame the Soviets didn't deem a heater to be a worthwhile option..
Lacy Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Saw this in a car park in Lincoln. Absolutely lovely condition... That's just gorgeous.....and very, very rare these days in that condition. That has to be one of the niceset early Rangey colours too.....Tuscan Blue I think they called it.........

I wouldn't know anything about it like...)
binhoker668 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Just spotted this monster for sale in a roadside field this morning. GR8 4 apocalypse survival! Dude, my Kiwi mate Ned is absolutely creamin himself over this. Can ye give us an address or something where we can go and test drive? He's actually serious like...Cheers...
Ratdat Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 Haven't got an address but I can show you where it was on a map. IT BE HERE
Ratdat Posted March 13, 2009 Author Posted March 13, 2009 More locally spotted rusty crud... Not really a spot as such but some undergrowth clearing at my neighbours gaff revealed this very sad Mk10 which had been returning to nature under the brambles for the last 15 years... I'd seen the R4 before but I've now found it's home. The owner has four others (all totally bolloxed) and wants to sell them but having met him I can confirm he is a thoroughbred cock end of the first order... Nicely shitey veedub combi seen in Cleethorpes... Not very challanging CPTC... Fantastic to see this old crock in daily workhorse form in Louth... This Rover is round the back of the deceased Rover/MG dealer I posted pics of before. Sadly not worth saving now the kids have done the windows and it's soggy and mouldy inside... This is round the back of the local garage I visited with DC last time he was here. This would do you Mr. Bol... Round the back of the garage I have been rescuing Renault stuff from lies this Dolomite 1850. It's only got about 32k on it and is very tidy. Yours for 400 notes... The Mk2 A40 Farina I clocked down the metal recyclers recently. I have a phone number for this one if anyone fancies rescuing it... And finally a couple from today. Down the weighbridge again today and clocked this seeming quite solid Maxi had been weighed in. And the most amazing thing to see weighed in...a Corvair! Oh, and one more thing... again over my neighbours place is this caravan. It's a 1955 Sterling. Needs some resto work but it basically all there and original. It even has a heater, fridge and a fold out bathroom sink which seems pretty well equipped for a 50's caravan. It's even got a built in water tank. Needs a new front window fitting. The wheel arch spats are with it AFAIK. Got a few more pics if anyones interested in it. It's up for £350...
Mike D Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Gutted to see the MK10, i'd love one! Shame about the R4 bloke though.
Vin Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Always wondered about those crusty R4s. Always see them from the road when visiting an Aunt in Keddington.
pompei Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Here's the Farina in frosty Mablethorpe! Great pics as always
seth Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 A35 for the CPT as no one else has made an attempt 16/60 is great to see. Do you think that Corvair's tailights could be obtained for not too much cash?Caravan is fantastic and looks in really great order.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Hey that subaru truck would suit me a treat, might it be available to buy?
Mr Lobster Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Shame about the R4. If he was not such a knob jockey I could have exchanged a medium sized pile of cash for a load of parts.Ho hum and all that.

I'll drop in and ask about the Subaru pickup on the way Mr. Bol.
Ratdat Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Some more chod... Curiously out of place amongst this load. Wonder what the story is with this... Failed to capture this Lotus fully in a services on the A1... Old leyland seeing out it's days as a glider launcher... Tidy un-scened splitty seen down south somewhere... Transit with a bit of rust... Seen chugging down to the coal yard at Alford (for a 'fill up' presumably) Shitey Lotus and classy beige Porsche 924 turbo seen round the back of the Renner dealership where I picked up my '73 R5... Crusty Commer which has been sat in this place since for evah... Tranny chip van... CF luton (crappy pic was taken whilst on the move) Fergie tractors next to a services on the A1 oop North... These Citroen vans must be quite rare now... Supa rotten P100.. finally...pick of the spots seen in the same services as the Fergies...

keef Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 The Mk2 A40 Farina I clocked down the metal recyclers recently. I have a phone number for this one if anyone fancies rescuing it...Thanks Ratdat.I've put a note over on :-http://www.justbritish.com/phpbb2/viewt ... =3094#3094
Ratdat Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Some more tat spied yesterday... Spied this in a garden loacal to me. Couldn't really get a clear shot of it..can you tell what it is? Awesome spot on the M42 It caught up with us later at a services. Piloted by what appeared to be a middle aged bloke with his elderly dad. Hope they keep this one away from the OSF lot... Finally, the spot of the day, if not the year for me was this... There's a lot more to this Citroen than is imeadiately apparent. A clue was in the badging, some of which read "DSM-27". Unbelievably cool car!
keef Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Finally, the spot of the day, if not the year for me was this...Wow!What a wonderful combo.
