Jim Bell Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I had to drop Mrs Shitpeas's's's Yaris off at the friendly neighborhood indapendant garage this morning and got chatting on about cars as you do.I asked him about the Merc thats been laid up outside for a while. "Its me dads, sat there since last MOT, not moved. He cant drive now, so I think hes given up on it and told be to scrap it, so I'll probably break it . You can have it for £300 if you like." I had a VERY quick look as I was in a hurry.Bit rust on a rear arch above where a mudflap was attatched and on one front wing in front of the arch where they always go. Little bit on the bonnet leading edge.Interior looks remarkably good fettle. No Tax or MOTMiles is 110 ish. The prevailing theory is it needs an auto box pipe and the brakes possibly cleaning up as its been sat, then it should piss an MOT. Price is £300 firm as, or can come with 12 months MOT at a negotiable price? He may be able to tax as surely got a trade policy? PLEASE DONT ASK ANY QUESTIONS IN THIS THREAD. I didnt even check model number, but the reg is there and the phone number is below.Hes a genuine honest bloke. Pics: I hear "Auto" "scrap" "£300" and thought of you degenerates. Might be of interest to someone, but I do 0% motorway miles and preffer 3 pedals. PM if you want contact details of owner.
Cavcraft Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Surely if you do zero percent motorway miles an auto is ideal? £300 seems pretty fair given it'd probably do more in export.
Mr Livered Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Sounds decent for the money; even if you were to find a couple of hidden rot spots you would have done ok for 300 quid. I'm getting quite fond of my 200T, which is the same age, and pretty good in most ways other than feeling somewhat underpowered. With this baby you could be like me, but not as slow. Just think of that, ladies and gentlemen, and pick up that phone.

For that reason, and the fact I don't have £300 plus tax money, I can rule myself out completely. I'm happy to help out in any way possible if anyone IS interested. Casa Del Shitpeas is available as a tea making, bacon Sarnie producing base-station for any prospective buyer (round the corner).

For that reason, it's your ideal car. Do heroic buying it then come back here and tell us you bought it. Milk no sugar please.
warren t claim Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 The estates don't seem to export as well as the saloons for some reason.
Jim Bell Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 No car boot sales or grouse shooting in Africa?
Mr_Bo11ox Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I love that little garage, I used to dream of working in it when I lived in whitley bay overrun 1

overrun Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I love that little garage, I used to dream of working in it when I lived in whitley bay You lived up here? Do you remember the black tubbed out 3dr Sierra drag car from the sea front? Ben, I don't want that knackered auld Benz, but I will have a bacon sarnie.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Nah, I dont remember that but I do remember one of those wanky monster truck stunt shows on the Links in mybe 1985? A harvest gold Marina estate got used for stunts and at the end of the show some lads out the crowd set it on fire rasher 1

A harvest gold Marina estate got used for stunts and at the end of the show some lads out the crowd set it on fire I was referring to around 2005!
Jim Bell Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 I remember a monster truck stunt show at Brough Park. There're was ONE monster truck, and a lad on a bmx jumped over 5 members of the crowd. Though I'm reasonably articulate, I can not express in words how unimpressed I was, even as a child.
overrun Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Was it the Smiley Transit monster truck from Jennings? #lambtonshoweveryyear
Jim Bell Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 Nah. It was a Big Foot clone called Broadfoot I think. It did donuts, then crushed some Sierras. What a cunt.
spike60 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Jennings big foot Tranny seems to have been outside the Middlesbrough branch forever, never seen it move.
Negative Creep Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Auto is a much better fit for these cars. Even if the wings are scabby then chances are it will still be solid underneath and they really do feel like they'll last forever. What's that white car in the first shot?
Jim Bell Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 What's that white car in the first shot? No idea. Its a historic google shot for added atmoshphere
Jim Bergerac Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Early nineties Chevrolet Cavalier, I think.
overrun Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Jennings big foot Tranny seems to have been outside the Middlesbrough branch forever, never seen it move. It was outside of the South Shields dealership a couple of years ago. Maybe there's more than one.
