Anyone else looking for something to do on Jan 1st that doesn't involve retail, DIY or very much effort at all?  Fancy some chod-chat and a BFO heartstopper to soak up some of the excesses of the previous evening?

:all_coholic::eatdrink040:

See you here - http://www.m6services.co.uk/ - around noonish (ish). I'll be in the Merc, assuming it deigns to start...

I'll try and see if I can there, though the Sterling is booked my other garage for suspension work on the 31st.....

We look forward to seeing you at Road King Transport Cafe, Truck Stop & Bar.

OPEING HOURS:

What, precisely are 'Opeing Hours'?

Opeing someone turns up maybe?

:-)

[black Country speak]Ay it arr kid mayte, cor spayke propa loike, wor do dat[/black Country speak]

Oh no! Black Country people. You people honestly almost have your own language, let alone an accent. I remember going to Dudley College years ago and being astonished at the Black Country accent and actual different words like 'cor' for can't. The girlies found it funny that I found it astonishing.

Where on the M6?

Erm, it isn't. It's on the A5 just off the M6 heading towards Cannock but A5justofftheM6onthewaytoCannockservices.co.uk had already been taken.

I must of past this place the other day when picking up the clio. I'm afraid I'll be far to hanging to attempt to drive the 300 mile round trip but have fun folks and get pics for us all.

Where on the M6?

Come off at gate 12, take the A5 east toward Cannock and Brownhills. Go through a set of traffic lights, the caff is about half a mile or so on the left.

Does this mean you'll be coming down in the 440 then? With Station we can have a sort of cheaper version of the scots Volvo massive!

Can't. Broken.

Posted

I go straight through the A5 (coming off the M54). :) What time are you meeting up?

I will be coming in the 440 as I'm the opposite - it's the only car that isn't broken.

I would've been up for this to put some faces to names, unfortunately I'm working :-(

Maybe, just maybe, if anyone's anyway interested in such a thing in this neck of the woods we can organise a monthly meet here, a sort of chod, chow and chatter? Intersperse it with the occasional trip down 't road to Cannock auctions for a cheeky bid on a snotter or two. Car parks big enough and, for those inclined to partake of the odd beverage, there are adequate public houses nearby.

I'm thinking along the lines of a shite version of the ace cafe meet.

It's just that there seem to be a few who can't make it and I feel guilty in them not being able to attend. Chaseracer and sir Stirling, what do you think?

I think its a great idea. Some of us seem to have depressing existences (well, at least I do) so it would be great to have something to look forward to.

Pull a 'sickie' man!

I would but I work in a mental hospital and I would feel guilty as sin if a member of staff got injured because there wasn't enough people at hand.

Plus I'm getting a good wage for it ;-)

Consider it done, gentlemen. We'll talk more on Wednesday.

Good chance I'll be along for this, got nowt else going on for Wednesday and a big fry up is what I need to start the new year diet with.

Also there's a big scrappie half a mile down the road, if we what to poke something that will make us feel good about our own cars.

Confirmed, previous evening's intake allowing:

chaseracer
FPB7
dugong
Lord Sterling
station
V40ish

Everyone welcome - just turn up around midday and look for the raddled collection of shite (and shiters!) in the car park.  If anyone has a timing light, please bring it - the Merc is running like a bag of spanners...

Posted

I'll bring my, erm, bag of spanners then! Still no shite in the FPB7 household so I'll hide the Panda diesel of destiny out of sight.

Come over a bit early, park the PDoD at mine if you like, Andy.  You can then enjoy the sybaritic* luxury** of a classic*** Mercedes-Benz...
