I cannot tell a lie, it was him! :-D   I never even saw the PAM set, so it's good to see them back with the car, at least.  I totally approve of the plan to have replicas made up with the YNO number (FWIW), they will look superb.

Week off work, and many jobs done around the house and caravan  - uprated the insulation on the DHW tank to try and keep it warmer longer so I can shut the heating off totally and rely on the Solar PV to provide hot water. The tank now has 1x 10mm green foam jacket, 1x 25mm Rockwool jacket and 1 x 40mm Rockwool jacket.

New caravan now sporting a few more 240v sockets than it left the factory with and a proper external aerial hook up point.

Set to today with the body work on the Cherry and - oh dear... holes be here!

Fairly big one in the near side of the front valance, though this will be easy enough to patch up. The rear OS sill has now hot a new hole below the plate, so Im left wondering whether to plate again or to chop out and fabricate. My fabrication skillorz are shit, but I know a man who can so the plan is to take the cherry and lots of beer to Bristol where a few hours swearing and beating things with a hammer to eradicate the rusty bits  the handing over to my tame bus driver / welderizer and he can patch it up properly.

Still, the other side of the front valance looks fine now and has been repainted, though not an exact match.

Photos later when I can download off my telling bone.

Holes are always disappointing to find, but on the plus side, that isn't a big score on a car so old!  I knew when I took it over that the front valance and the rear ends of the sills wouldn't last forever.  If I'd kept it over the winter my plan was to get it in to Martin's garage for some tickling, it was always going to be worth doing on that car.  It's a little treasure, I'm cheering you on here!

Seemed to think I had taken more than this photo, anyway - its a fair bit bigger than this right now, not that Im overly bothered as the valance is a straightforward repair for me, the rear sills are a bit more involved but the promise of much beer has been made and plans are afoot to drive it to Bristol for some hardcore fabrication and MIG action.

On the plus side the other side of the front valance looks pretty good right now :)

Plans indeed are afoot, not only are the lad and I off in a Southerly direction with the Cherry, but its turning into a full on weld fest starring the Cherry, a Multipla, a Dennis Lance and a couple of BX's.

Beer and camping are also involved :)

Ive got the horn big time for a 4x4, its an itch Ive wanted to scrat for a long time.

Long discussions in the Micrashed household and Number 1 son is mortified at the thought of the Micrashed going to pastures new.

The current plan is:

I service the Micrashed ( I have lots of parts for it anyway)

I fix the ripped drivers seat cover

I gift the Micrashed to my son & sell the Cherry as we cant keep 4 cars - I just dont have the room.

Whether I patch the Cherry first or sell "as is" Im not sure yet.

Its a shame, but the lad says he wants the Micrashed over the Cherry :?
