I always use ordinary silver car paint. The generic Silver Aluminium stuff looks well, as it has little reflective flakes in it. A word of warning, though - if you put lacquer over it, it reacts and ends up looking like Hammerite.

Plastikote silver, or just normal silver spray paint is all I have used in the past with acceptable results.

Its in the prep -

Wash - hot soapy water (I use fairy liquid)

Rinse

Dry

Lightly key with some fine emery paper

Wash again, rinse, dry

Light  dusting spray coat to prime then 2 or 3 top coats waiting for it to dry in between.

Someone suggested a specific VW silver paint as being ace for wheels but I can't remember who or what.

Hope that helped.

Carplan Silver 19 is a VW silver, but I can't remember which one. Silver Reflex maybe? I saw it recommended on RR, and used it on the R25s alloys. Looks well.

Except carplan paint is like white spirit that has had a vaguely similar coloured paint brush dipped in it.

Find somewhere that sells Hycote and get some BL Silver Birch.

Lovely.

VW reflex silver is "wheel colour" normal paint, Put it on like normal (primer-paint-lacquer) and it will turn out fine.

You can skip steps with special wheel paints and get an OK job, depends on how picky you are.
