It's not the Japanese Mercedes, It's the Swedish one

So you might have noticed I teased that I bought a new car. You might even have cared. As it was, I really fancied a Lexus LS400 but for some reason insurance said I could only have one if it had a Thatcham alarm. Wanting something with a bit of comfort and performance without making me look like a massive cock, I saw this on ebay 3 miles away so the only sensible* thing to do was buy it:

C70 2.3 T5 GT Automatic. Leather heated seats, electric everything, all seems to work as it should, and the engine is an absolute thunderbastard, although a bit muted compared to the Focus STs I've drive. According to the V5 it's green, which I really can't see. Only taken it on a test drive and back home thus far, but it will be perfect* for the commute through town traffic to work every day

Nice, I came within an ace of buying a C70 convertible when I got the Alfa. Really underrated cars.

Sure will. Insurance did ask me if I'm working as a trader though, since apparently I've had too many cars in the last 12 months!

I had the same with footman James Last year!

I think it's only been 6 in the last 12 months, one of them was with another company and another didn't even have insurance. That would make me a pretty crappy trader

Nyc ryd bro.

I broke one of these with a mate in the summer. It was his car, I just broke it. Literally.

Exploding airbags, V8 Rover blocks through the rear window, closures dragged off via rope and another Volvo - it had it all.

Hope you like yours better than I liked mine. Looked lovely, horrible to drive, absolute POS.

Would have really liked one in that metallic gold, but never mind. Oddly mine is listed as green on the V5 but sure looks grey to me? Have also found the turning circle is absolutely dreadful, so combined with the massive doors it makes it great fun in our narrow work car park

I have said that before; the turning circle is worse than a Jumbo Jet. It really puts me off having another. However, it's cheapish to run and insurance ain't bad out here. I've had a lot of use with roof down and it's easily one of the best looking convertibles out there and the prices are good now since the new ugly thingy.
