Well done.

Trouble with these cars is they're criminally under-appreciated and hence don't fetch much.  Makes more sense to keep it and enjoy the secret.

A very sensible decision !

I'm sure your daughter would much rather have her own car, rather than be driven around in the family 405. I would therefore highly* recommend that you purchase one of those pieces of automotive excellence*. They are a paragon of safety* and their exclusive style* is certain to make all her classmates envy* her :

As much as I like your suggestion, my daughter is only 14 years old, hence chauffeurage is required for a few years to come.

Her wish of course is to trade the Peugeot for a Town Limousine with open driver's seat, which prompted me to remind her that there are ropes and rear bumpers, should something I decide not be quite to her taste.

We had a long and fruitful domestic discussion and the end result is that we are not going to sell.

Please do accept my apologies for wasting everybody's time, but we concluded that we will regret the sale later on and therefore we will keep this car.

OH M8 UR JOKIN? I'm just back from a painfull operation having a kidney removed so I can sell it to organs4peugeots.com so I could raise the money to buy this and now you tell me it's not up for sale anymore. Please can you send me one of your kidneys to replace the one I have had removed.?

Bump.

The car is now finally for sale due to J-tin acquirage.

MOT Feb, just freshly taxered for another 6 months at obscene cost, so the car can be driven away.

It's generally still fine, 102k miles on it, but it would ideally benefit from the 100k service now, including cam belt change.

New cambelt kit and water pump is included in the deal.

The car recently developed a few faults.

1. The lock of the driver's door doesn't work, but the CL works remotely with the key fob.

2. The driver's door window doesn't go down. You can hear the motor, but the window doesn't move. Might be minor, but I CBA anymore.

3. The headlining started to sag in several places.

4. It's predominantly woman driven, so it has a few scrapes where SWMBO regularly clips our front garden hedge when parking. They will polish out though.

5. The brakes could do with looking after. Front ones are fine, new discs and pads were installed last MoT, but I have a feeling the rear ones need work. The car was only used for light duty, hence the rear brakes are severely understressed. On these models, this leads to the rear calipers (yes, you read this right!) to stick. However, and this may be a disappointment to some, the handbrake works and there is no 20p coin jammed in the linkage.

Shiter price: £400.00 - which includes the fucking tax disc. Hey, that's barely bridge money for the car itself!

Disclaimer: The faint at OMGMPG need not apply! This is a 2.0 pezza bader. It goes like Schmitt's cat, though.

My old man had an L reg deezl 405 estate and it was an awesome drive. Handling and steering so responsive it felt like a much smaller car to chuck about. I missed driving it when he got rid. This one looks top of range and ace condishon. I wish I needed one. My Raleigh equips racer fitted in the back with seatz down. Gee ell dubbleyou tea ess.

What people often fail to understand is that this is a genuine 120mph rocket with handling and get up and go to boot.

I'm very tempted. With the Disco going, I'll need a good sized, practical replacement. Tax bill comes first though. :(

I'm in Stockport.

Please make me a semi insulting offer. It's in the way and really needs to go.

Also, T and T is just ticking away the longer you wait.

This looks right for you dollywobbler it's like a BX without getting squirted in the face with LHM every 10 minutes.

It's ideal, but fleet happenings don't seem to be occurring in the manner I'd hoped.

Monetary, or space-wise?

Sale/removal of car and payment do not necessarily have to happen on the same day, you know.

What, like DFS "pay next year" deals? Such is the hatred of debt in this house that I suspect I still wouldn't be allowed. Thanks for the offer though!

EDIT - I was entirely right, so must remove any interest in this interesting vehicle.

Crikey! Let me look at insurance etc... I would quite like this but I'm broke and you're really far away... I'll get back to you soon and hopefully someone else will have bought it already!

It must go, even if it is on a drive-now-pay-later basis.

It's occupying the only real secure space I have and once the Granada is back from the garage, it must go there, or itz DOOMT to the oval, understand?

I know that all banger racers are honorable intellectuals, but leaving a Grandad on the drive for more than five minutes means you will find it at Belle Vue Stadium next for some reason in stark contrast to the PHAKT I just stated.

I'm sad that I have to bump this again.

And no, this time it has nothing to do with the forum not being anymore what it never was anyway.
