The art of classic cars

I'll share it in here after the Important Day has passed.  Glad to hear it arrived, presumably with no bother.

Time for an art update I think.  First up, that picture I did for Mr Livered, my first ever picture of a Saab, hopefully not my last.

Next, the Pineapple bus that you've seen works in progress of, now completed.  Should you wish to purchase the original I'm open to offers in the region of £40, which includes P&P worldwide.  Framing of the artwork is a possibility but will cost extra depending on what you'd like.post-5335-0-90722200-1388205223_thumb.jpg

The Landcrab is next on the cards for completion, it's now inked and looking rather smart.  Once completed, it too shall be up for grabs.

2014 should see a more concerted effort to get a decent automotive portfolio together so I hope to get updates on here a little more regularly.  There's definitely areas I can improve on, as is always the case with artwork, but on the whole I'm happy with what I'm producing and hopefully you are too.

Great stuff. Looking forward to seeing more in '14.

Love the Saab - it's only small on my phone, but is the mulleted James May lookalike behind the wheel an artist's impression of Mr Livered?

Posted

No... That's Ms Livered.  I daresay on the original she's drawn no bigger than your thumb so shrinking it down further to phone size is bound to lead to confusion.

To kick off 2014, here's a purple Wolseley Six in surburbia.  Original image is A4 in size but has been cropped to better frame it here.  Original is available for £40 inc. P&P if it takes your fancy.

I know I've got an Alfa Romeo GTV to draw this year.  I'm also planning to get at least one Princess down on paper and a well known Montego.  Any cars that are suggested I will make attempts to draw though you may not see any of those attempts if I'm not happy with them, such is the case with the previously suggested Xantia estate, but I shall keep trying.

Advertisement warning:

£40 full colour (as above)

£20 ink only (working on an example of this)

Message me if you'd like further details on how this works.  Price is inclusive of P&P worldwide.

If you ever draw an '83 XR3i then let me know.

I could be up for that, I do like Cloverleafs.

I made this. (at school)

It's still proudly* displayed at my parents house, on top of the bookcase in the spare room, out of view.

I'd completely forgotten about it until i spotted it recently.

I've been told that before.  What I'd love is a digital tablet and stylus that behaved like a pencil/brush and paper.  Until such a thing is invented and available for £2.49, three buttons and a tube of smarties (opened) I'm going to be sticking to the old fashioned way of doing things I think.

I gave digital a two month trial to try and get at least some mastery of it and I found the whole process so arse about face and headache inducing I have no desire to go back into it.

I'm with you on this Vulga - I can appreciate the excellence of the digital kit but I was taught with pencils, pen and ink, and paint brushes and using a tablet will be like having to re learn all the techniques again.

I wish I had more time to draw and paint. Maybe the move to the country will help

Useful bump is useful!  Thanks Scooters, I now know it was Warren asking for an Xr3i.
