Alfa 147

Anyone fancy mine?  Once again I find myself having an enforced cull of the fleet due to being a mong and buying too many cars.

It's this one:

It's a 1.6 in what I think is the best colour combination for these - bright red with black leather.  It's pretty well loaded for a 147, with climate control, cruise control, CD player with Bose speakers, trip computer, ESP, etc. etc.  It even has a fugging digital display on the dash showing what position the electric headlight levelling is set at.  Condition isn't bad for its age - the paint hasn't pogweaseled much, although there is a patch of peeling lacquer on the bonnet and more on the door mirrors, and there's no major dents - few minor parking dings / scuffs though, of the type Alfas always seem to pick up as a result of having no side rubbing strips.

It's MoT'd until the end of June next year - all it needed for a test were some wiper blades and a new NSF upper wishbone.  No tax though.

Bad points:  OSF wheel bearing is getting noisy, although it passed the MoT.  I can't be arsed to replace it.  Engine runs fine, pulls well for a 1.6 and doesn't use much oil but is a bit tappety on a light throttle.  The EML has come on a few times and once the car started running on three but I'm pretty sure that was due to me being a mong and spilling oil all over the engine - it appears to have got into the injector wiring plug.  Since I gave it a bit of a clean it's been much better.  The locking wheelnut key appears to have vanished, so as well as a wheelbrace it would be advisable to carry a smaller socket and a hammer.  Aircon works but needs a regas as doesn't do much in the way of cooling.  And I don't have any service history so don't know when the cambelt was last done - although at least being a 1.6 there's no pissing about with balancer shaft belts to worry about.

Other than that it's all good...

Here's a couple more pics:

Bloody hell wuvvum that's a right bargain for £500. I think we need to arrange some kind of wuvvum fleet disposal arrangement where I just ship all the cars your done with up to Scotchland.

Looks marvellous. Space, distance, gravity etc. all working against me.

Anyone know how these compare to a 146?

That's bargaintastic and making my Peugeot look rather expensive. Can you stop it please

there was a 51-plate 5-door one of these in my works carpark a couple of weeks ago with 'For sale, £500' in the windscreen. It was a 1.6 pez with a posh stereo as well.

Took one near identical to that in part ex about 6 months ago, I gave £380 for it, stuck a fresh test on and got £875 so at a monkey - that's a bargain!
