Another insurance company cop-out

Just received my classic insurance renewal from Footman James. I will no longer be covered to drive other vehicles third party on my policy. Bastards. Is this a new industry wide scam to get people into trouble or is it just Footman James?

A lot of companies have withdrawn this third party benefit as parents would insure young 'un to drive their 500cc Axiam and then they would merrily swan off in Mummys 523i

 

I actually used this for a few years when me and the missus were first courting - she (new driver, no NCB) drove my XR2 and I had her shitty 998cc Fiesta which I trolled around Moss Side and Rusholme in as a district nurse safe in the knowledge that no fucker would touch it.

Didn't think you got third party cover for other cars on a classic policy, I never had it on any of mine with various different insurers, though I've always had it on my main policy.

I have third party cover on other cars with my classic policy through lancaster

I dont have it through Peter James. I did enquire when I first bought my policy for the G-reg Sterling, they said that in order to have such cover, I'd need to buy a normal, fully compehensive policy, so I didn't think Classic Policies would allow you to drive other vehicles.

I have it through Adrian Flux, but if I was just insuring the Princess I couldn't.  For some reason the BX is classed as normal or classic and the Princess as a classic only so I can only get the third party entitlement on the BX.  Other insurers have told me the same thing.
