Alexg Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Bits started to arrive for my Chevette today including the Haynes Book of fantasy.... ... with a wonderful list of car history and expenditure inside the back cover I wonder if he regretted buying the Lancia? £550 worth of expenditure in 12 months including 'body repair' at £85 and another at £225. He lost 50% of the value in 12 months too. Onwards and upwards, on to a Polenez..... It's a shame there are no reg numbers, it'll be interesting to know their fate. Vince70 and brickwall 2
Wilko220 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Love it! The Lancia to Polonez leap is class. Seems the combined experience was enough to make him go back to Vauxhalls...
warren t claim Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 2xHeadlamps on the Lancia coupled with body repair screams crash to me. brickwall 1
Alexg Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 I thought that, although they look to be written at different times.
Pillock Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 The body repairs will be rust. As will the headlamps. And the tyres. Bloody Italians. Judging by the top right column, the V/C (Vauxhall Chevette, I'm assuming) also had body repair totalling £175. Is this guy Mr Magoo? HillmanImp 1
warren t claim Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 £130 for an alternator on an FSO seems a bit steep back in 1981!
Split_Pin Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I love this sort of thing - thanks for sharing, My Grandpa did the same thing in his MK1 Fiesta Haynes, which I now have.
Alexg Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 After getting my mitts on a boot load of Haynes manuals a few more interesting notes etc were found... Sadly, no longer exists... brickwall, scruff, nacho man and 2 others 5
Pillock Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 That's an astonishing level of arsed the owner has shown. Recording the miles run on each tyre?! We could continue the tradition on more shite cars. Squire_Dawson Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 That Austin 1300 did OK. New sills at 7 years old wasn't bad for one of these.
