Right, my parents are trying to sell a caravan through eBay and have had nothing but eBay mongs contacting them.

It has been re-listed twice in a week as two offers have been accepted and then the buyers have twatted around. First by sending a message on the day that they were meant to be picking it up that 'soz m8 i cannot by ur caravan now' and the second guy turning up without a number plate to put on the back of it and then not wanting to take it back without a proper plate after haggling like a twat despite having already accepted an offer from him on eBay, so that fell through as well.

The caravan is located in Tiverton, Devon.

Listed on eBay for £1200, available at a shiters discount for £800

So anyone of you fine people interested? Here is the description and pics from eBay:

2 Berth Craftsman Miracle 132 Caravan. Relisted because buyer did not show.

I bought this caravan two years ago. It has served me very well as I have been working near to London week on week off. My week at work I have been living in the caravan at Wyatts covert caravan site then taking the caravan round to Purple storage for my week at home, once in a while bringing the caravan home for a service and spruce up. I am selling because my shift patten has changed to four on four off, and so I have bought a transit camper and now commute back and forth.

The caravan was manufactured sometime in the early nineties It is in a nice clean condition, although there are a few age related faults. Apart from a leak in one of the sky lights shortly after I bought it which I immediately fixed, it is totally dry. It has been really easy to tow as it only weighs 750 kg. This also makes it easy to manouver by hand. I can manage this on my own no problem.

Equipment wise it has:

4 burner hob.

Grill (never used).

Oven (never used).

Kitchen sink.

Hot and cold running water.

Draining board.

Three way fridge with small freezer comp.

Two single beds or

One Humungous double bed.

Water Heater. Gas and electric.

Gas heater. (I have never used this)

Slightly scruffy electric heater. Works perfectly. Kept me nice and toasty through two winters.

Loads of storage space.

Wardrobe.

Shower/wet room.

Cassette toilet with flush.

Bathroom sink.

Bathroom cupboard with mirrors.

The window are fitted with blinds that are silvered on the outside. this keeps the caravan cool on hot days.

There is an awning with the caravan, but I have never put this up.

The family that had this caravan before me had two small children, and they all used to go away together. All sleeping in the enormous double bed.

I am letting all the equipment go with the caravan. This includes:

Aqua roll. With Two pumps. One of them can be a bit noisy. So I keep it as a spare.

Water waste container with wheels. And waste pipes.

Electrical plug in lead.

Calor gas bottle with some gas in it.

Step. To make getting in to the caravan easier.

Hitch lock. (never bothered to use this.)

Tv aerial that is quick to erect once on site.

It is fitted with a leisure battery, but this will need replacing. I have just been out and tried an interior light but there was no power.

So what you have here is a caravan ready to go for little money. If you are interested you could come along hitch up and head for the beach.

The missus would love me to buy this, but as the Xsara is still dragging it's arse around like a broken dog, I can't see it happening any time soon, which is a shame, we could have a holiday in it just after collecting it otherwise!

Again, if my Mrs saw this, we would put other plans on hold (But I REALLY MUST finish the bathroom, it's been 2 years now). It looks well tidy for it's age, and actually tastefully trimmed too, not like the gaudy modern shizz that seems to "out-bling" the competition. It's a nice offer, hope it goes to a deserving home.

A nice van and I empathise with you totally about selling caravans on eBay - sold my last one on there and was innundated with utter fuctards offering stupid money (more than it was worth) with the "pull the auction now and I will buy tonight" only they didnt.

Sold it in the end to a nice young family from just down the road and I still see it getting dragged off to pastures new during the nice months.

I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing you're so far away. We* have been talking about getting one very recently and that looks just the job.

Well, turn up with a car with a tow bar and a spare number plate along with some crockery and stuff to sleep under and your good to go for a nice weekend break in rainy devon and then you get to go back with a spangly new caravan.

Cups of tea and possibly biscuits will be provided on request at arrival time.

I'm not in the market for a caravan but I have to say that looks like VALU at £800.

This was almost making me think caravanning looked reasonably civilised, until i got to the picture of the khazi.

I think the key is pretending you're on a plane.

The mile low club?

Looks good to me. I would have this like a shot but I fall foul of the post '98 driving license conditions which means another test to tow it. Which I know is easy but it's time and money for a bit of paperwork to prove I'm qualified to do something I know I can do...

Posted

can't you tow something 750kg? Cos thats what phil says it weighs........

Posted

I thought the newer licenses were ok to tow up to 750kg as well Fred.

Posted

Yes and no. It's all about the total train weight. Car + trailer (or caravan) cannot exceed 4250kg. The more I look into this the more it confuses me. I would only be happy with a big tow car like a V70

Posted

Oh OK. Good job I can tow what I want!! Surely if you have a heavier tow car the trailer gets lighter? Even a volvo estate isnt gonna be 3.5ton!

I've just checked the plate on the side of the van. The original weight of it is 756kg with maximum of 910 when fully loaded with duvets and tinned soup, so should be fine to be towed by pretty much anything up to and including a Land Rover Discovery 3 or a Mk4 Transit.
