My missus fiesta

My other half's 51 plate fiesta zetec seems to be losing a small amount of fluid - oddly none of the fluid levels appear to be dropping.

 

Having been underneath the car I have clocked a small amount of fluid on the sump, which looks like water (coolant?) tracing it up the engine it has come through a hole in a boss to which the air con compressor is attached. I know that above this area the rad hoses attach so it is possible I have a small dribble from one or both of these.

 

Another oddity was that I jacked the O/S up and had the engine running with the transmission in neutral. The o/s wheel rotated, not unusual, but I found I could not stop it with my boot. Dipping the clutch made the wheel stop. Is this normal or is there something more sinister afoot?

 

To be fair, despite the reputation for rust, this has been a very good car - had it for 12 months and spent around £70 on it. However it is having a timing belt soon (it only has 47k on the clock) as the current one is nearly 12 years old.

Sweet means coolant, otherwise AC like previously stated.

It seems to be coming from the 'stat housing - either cracked or the o ring has gone.
