I wonder what the donor car is listed as? Odd that the kit has been chopped on one side.

I was sort of hoping that it was a budget Cobra rep that had used a Mk2 Escort 1600 Sport as a donor car...

It'll be a Pilgrim. They used Jag bits.

Let me guess, log book applied for, eBay listing awaits?

Pilgrim Sumos were Cortina-based and had slightly strange high rear proportions because of the rear suspension (don't ask me why). Dax ones (Tojeiro) were Jag-based. I can't tell which one it is by looking at the bare glass sitting on the floor, but I guess someone wiped out the side of their faux Cobra and the side of this one was used as a donor. Seems like an expensive way to do it though.

thats my guess too

some cobra owners insurance paid out for a new body shell but it only received a bodged repair

It might be a RAM a Southern Roadcraft or god knows what, not just a pilgrim or a Dax too.

Why go to the trouble of sorting out a donor Daimler if you're only going to cut the shell up for spares?

And according to DVLA, not seen a tax disc since 1991. If there is a kit bearing that number, it hasn't been on the road yet, if at all, and if the original car still exists, it's either sinking into a field or having an extremely thorough restoration somewhere. Just trying to think of all the possibilities...
