Shite Central for model cars:

http://digbysmodels.co.uk/

They seem to specialise in hoovering up models from continental partworks, so the 1:43 offerings are usually from IXO or Norev.

The van section is absolutely rammed with French commercial vehicles. Vive le shite!

Posted

The French are big time into partwork stuff - a lot of what they ^ have is the Mythique R4 series and the Citroen H Collection. We've just ordered a load of other assorted French vans - Citroen U23 petrol tankers, R4s, Peugeot J5s which are due to land in the next week or two.

A lot of people reckoned that we wouldn't be getting much partwork stuff coming into the UK this year but if anything its gone completely the other way and theres been boatloads of it. I've got a load of assorted cars that are pretty cheap that arrived yesterday - R5, Facel Vega, 205 GTi, Porsche 928, BMW 3 series that I think I'll be dragging to Retro Show rather than sticking on eBay as I really can't face sorting through it all :D

Don't worry its correct, ertainly some if not all of the anglebox vans were named thames, leading to a situation like today where there is a large van and a car based van running around with the same name (thames/thames and transit/transit connect)!

p.s. nice cheap find there!

You did well with the Britains stuff there! I have some from when I was young and I now try and add odd bits for the children's farmyard. They're pretty good with it, but sometimes I'm selective about what comes out when they have friends round...

I also have the IH tractor, and the red Majorette tractor unit. Don't know if it came with other trailers, but mine has a boat on a low loader. Had that one since I was 9-10, bought in France.

they are loving the tractors

didnt know that about anglia's, not a bad van :D

They were planning to use the name Consul for their medium-sized cars too, the first Cortinas had a Consul badge on the front.

my 2nd car was a cortina Mk1 that had consul on the bonnet

There were some quite interesting deals on 1:43 models at the Le Mans Classic.

I'd been after an Ebbro Dome Zero for ages, and found one for the equivalent of £11. I followed this up with a Spark Suzuki Cappuccino, and a Mazda 787B, both around the £14 mark. Way cheaper than eBay if you walked around for a bit.

I also got a pair of Michelin T shirts that are too tight. But that's because I'm a fat bastard.

The truck is definitely a Majorette! as i used to have the same truck as a kid.

Originally it came with a Honda F1 car and trailer/ workshop.

A few clues there about my collection, shipped all the way to Cyprus with us! I have approx 1200 in assorted scales, ranging from parts donors to mint-boxed, and from OO/HO to 1/18. I love police cars, as mentioned elsewhere; ditto American cars; and as you can see from my workbench, I'm not afraid of a little work to make something into something else. :)

what's to the right of the Trotter van, some kind of Saab??

Posted

Well spotted. Yes, you're looking at part of the film/TV collection. This is the Bburago Saab 900, painted black to represent the Saab used by Leslie Grantham in the short-lived early-90s series The Paradise Club.

Posted

Of course, the legendary SLE 71R, a repaint of the Matchbox KS Mk2.

Posted

There is a Vanishing Point Challenger, but it's in the pic above, in front of Rubber Duck's truck. I think what you're looking at is the white Charger, as used in one episode of Dukes by the great Cale Yarborough.

The H2 is for CSI Miami, our hero the great Horatio drives one!

All very aspensive... they do a 405 as well in the same scale... mmmmmm...

Chrikey. That Mi 16 is giving me the horn. NO. I have nowhere to keep it, and I'd have to buy a cabinet......

Edit: Oh God. They do a 306 GTI 6 (or 'S') as well.........

Get it. The Otto stuff is seriously good. Really is. And very limited edition as well. They've done an R11 which is giving me the eye.
