Also found this shot from the same event, had 2 very early mk1s there too. White JPS at the front. And the lime/black mk2 near the back is converted to wheelchair user controls, done at home on his driveway!

On a similar subject, what info is there out there for the Ford PNO registered press cars? They used to crop up on TV almost as often as the VHK cars. Here's a couple from the 1978 Famous Five TV series.

That's super early for a 1.3 Fiesta.

To best of my knowledge non of the pno or vhk cortinas survive one of the nhk's does but has been in private storage over 30 years.

I spotted a PNO MK1 Fiesta in Basildon years ago when there were quite a lot of MK1S about, but R reg cars were unusual even then.

One I should have enquired about at the time

Someone I used to work with had an R plate Fiesta. He’d had it years. Apparently it was a 957 originally but he upgraded it to an 1100 with a good engine from a written off later car.

It looked a bit odd seeing a mk1 with the R registration.

The 1300 Fiesta wasnt available at launch hence S plate being early for a 1300.

VHK 469S was a more basic model.

Whilst having a sort-out today I stumbled across this one on the front cover of Popular Motoring, September 1978:

Not on DVLA, if a genuine plate presumably it didn't make it far into the 1980s (if at all). Maybe crashed, or used to rechell a racer?
