Fiesta Shite For Sale

Only just young enough to be "Shite"...

My 1998 R plate Fiesta Encore is here. It runs like a sowing machine, it's perfect, but I just don't like it!

It's got the chain driven Endura E engine (1.3) which has been de-restricted offering it's full 70BHP (As opposed to 59, as Ford Limited the engine output by restricting the fuelling to make the 1.25 seem a better option).

It's economical, I've seen 40+mpg. It's nimble, but basic. It's the Encore model, so no PAS, EW or CL. Just, a car. Has a Radio from a Ghia model, presumably because the standard three button one was too depressing... But it's usable and works!

78k miles, good service history and previous owner was a Ford Technician so it's had a new oil cap with services, new clutch, new front suspension etc etc. Tappets were adjusted properly and it's not overly noisy to drive. Sits at 70 with no problem and will press on to well past this when required.

2 new Kumho tyres on the front end, and two "Good" tyres on the rear.

Also, one more benefit, it's a three door. So easier for us tall people to get in and out of. The boot is untidy inside, however.

MOT for a year (Mislaid certificate, will buy a new one)

Tax until August.

£500

Seriously consider PX/Straight swap. Cash either way for the right car. (Preferably Astra, Cavalier, Orion, WHYG!)

To make my post somewhat less spurious, Mum_L had a Flight model and the Endura_E was picked because it was cheaper to insure with me (then 17 and a new driver) on their polict than the 1.25. I thought it went well and was a very willing engine.

The Endura-E is far more torquey and doesn't like/respond to being revved hard. All you get past about 4.5k RPM is more noise, it's time to up change, it's similar to driving a small Turbo Diesel car. The actual red line is 5.5k RPM according to the book but unlike most cars I've owned, I've never had to go that far to extract the power from it.
