There was talk elsewhere in the Mungo Gerry thread of the old chod in the crash adverts from back in the day I thought I'd start my own wee thread after a quick search revealed no similar threads.

 

I thought I'd start proceedings with the clasic flying Austin 1100, remember kids don't mix crossplys and radials

Fuck me that Norn Iron ad is grim, effective though.

For some reason the Mungo Jerry ad always reminds me of the ad with the giant hedgehog rumbling down the road squashing cars (hamlet cigars? woodpecker cider?). Think they are just two of the ads that stick in my mind most from that time.

When I rocked up in Norn Iron a couple of years ago, I was prepared for most things but I wasn't prepared for those ads. I when I first saw that one I'm not sure what I was caught out by, the graphic content or an A-Series Metro, MK4 Escort, MK2 Grandad, MK3 Grandad, MK2 Cav etc turning up in an advert in 2010...definitely a "you know you're a shiter when..." moment.

Another one could be where the program you we're watching is replaced by a a bright light and the tagline "turn your foglights off you twats" or "stop blinding everyone with high-beam you horrible cunts" appears after you've all been blinded.

 

To think, if this thread was started 6 months earlier... we'd be throwing up clunk click ads all over the shop, now they have to come with a "paedo content" warning.
