A few Notts Spots

I am sent to a small branch on a fairly respectable estate in an anonymous Nottinghamshire market town. This environment is ripe for shite. I arrive horribly early and park the Ghia behind a pie shop. Amongst the local modes of transport she looks like Scarlett Johansen on a United Nations visit to a leper colony. Having half an hour to spare I set off in search of shite and am not disappointed...

Around the first corner I stumble upon an NHS Skoda:

Nearby there stands this last, glorious defiant gesture of the dying British car industry:

Perhaps it is shared by Boy Racer & his Grandpa Giffer? Proceeding up The Knoll (for that is the name of this treasure trove) I spot an Uggolino, possibly the same one previously seen near the town centre:

But what is that jewel hiding behind our Italian friend?

A Dormobile complete with interior garden! This requires more photographs.

Evidently the local yobs do not appreciate the lovely shite which that kind resident has left on display for all & sundry. I particularly like the lace curtains & having 'Ambulance' (i.e. OPC, Old People Carrier) written on its side:

He also had this beside the outside toilet:

A dog started barking somewhere inside the house so the funny stranger taking inexplicable pictures quickly proceeded in a westerly direction. There was stiff competition for the Dormy nearby from this Talbot & its Japanese friend:

This is actually elsewhere, but not previously posted:

That sad thing when you can see a potential project being left just a little too long & turning into a No-hoper. Finally for now, not really shite, but a veritable classic spotted in another village. I had to park a quarter of a mile away & go back to get pictures of this, but it was certainly worth the walk!

The blue ambulance, an Escort van and an outside toilet with spare tyres in it? Bloke deserves Gold membership to Autoshite I reckon 8)

I will go round there & tell him you said that, garethj.

Another recent spot, though not upon the fabled Knoll:

This, however, was just down from the Dormobile:

Looks like he went to America for that classy Chevy. Obviously another serious collector with a nicely-pimped up 1000 also improving the scenery:

Any suggestions as to what's under the tarp? Took a quick snap before they awoke & let out the rotties. This was round the next corner:

I particularly like that year's elegant wing mirrors. Finally, from another outlying village; someone has been working on this (in a public car park) for years:

A colleague caught me taking that picture & she's been giving me funny looks ever since, so I hope you all appreciate the effort that's gone into grabbing these gems.

Gold star to you for risking your neck taking some of those snaps!

I reckon S1 Escort RS Turbo under the tarp.Interesting how the mirrors on 190s (and W124s, come to that) are different shapes/sizes on either side of the car. The 1999-2001 VW Polo is the same, I noticed (/anorak mode).

Loving the dormobile conversion - they actually appeared in the late 80's "Commercials" brochures, in a variety of seat patterns.

By George I think you've got it, Mr. welfare! A very distinctive wheel arch terminus & definitely the right colour (to match the driver's socks). That particular CPTC looked as if about a third of the car is currently in bits, no doubt scattered about the front room. Let's hope the PistonHeads manage to shut the bonnet on this one properly before they drive off in it.

Those lace curtains made me wonder if the Dormobile hadn't been used as a sort of summerhouse. You could also make out the remains of a transfer which said something like We're being kind and helpful to you, as if it had been used for some sort of charitable/patronising purpose: taking pensioners to polling booths or maybe terminally-ill children to the seaside?

If I owned that I'd reinstate it, with "now shut up and take your f**king medicine" added underneath

That piston heads ad's escort bonnet is supposed to be like that,is supposed to be for extra cooling, but is a bit 'scene' aswell, agreed cpt is an escort.

I don't get that 'engine cooling' argument, I don't think I've ever seen a proper racing car with spacers in its bonnet hinges.

I think the CPTC is some unnamed shitter with an aftermarket bodykit fitted.
