FredTransit Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Last night BBC Southest Inside Out about the Southampton plant. Not seen it yet. Did my bum look big in it?
Richard Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 It should be in here somewhere. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... 7_12_2012/
fordnut Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 This is the correct link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01pdvq0/Inside_Out_South_17_12_2012/ The other one is worth watching for the bloke carry a carpet on a mobility scooter. The white new shape Transit that appeared in the article had a bodykit on it and was in fact the new SportVan. I think they are trying to directly compete with the VW Transporter with the new Transit Custom. I followed a new shape Transit Custom yesterday and it appeared to have negative camber on the rear wheels which is a little off putting on a Van.
Jack_Harpers_Teeth Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 EXCELLENT! This is what we want!
cobblers Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I can't believe you'd set fire to your own pub, you fool!
FredTransit Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 on that note, the thing under the blue tarp is a burned out Mk3. Not saying if you park anything other than a Mk1 or Mk2 on me yard I will torch it or owt.....
Bobthebeard Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I can't believe you'd set fire to your own pub, you fool! Burning down pubs and flooding the county? The Transit Gods must have been angry.
Bobthebeard Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 That thing under the blue tarp was clearly full of flood water ( M'Lord). Just awaiting being released upon the Ford management. Serve the buggers right.....
beko1987 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 So you torched your transit to cover the fact you drove it through water and killed it, then covered your tracks by appearing on a TV show..... Good work!
FredTransit Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 How very dare you sir! I do not have or want a Mk3.........
Jim Bell Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 So THATS what turned the South East Inside Out.
FredTransit Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 I didnt do it. Iwas only on the program.
TimothyClaypole Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 The painted mirrors on that new van were already scratched. Top design work by people who've never used one day in and out...
FredTransit Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 I didnt look at the new stuff. Doesnt surprise me.
STUNO Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Bloody BBC says I can only watch it on radio.
mk1_4dr Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I'll have a little watch of this when I get in in an hour. I remember the last time you were on telly too Fred
FredTransit Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 yeah but this time Iwas dealing with something I like......
beko1987 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 The bit where you try and fire up the transit that had sat since August, did it fire up in the end? The camera cut away to you sat in it but no engine noises! Have to say, your yard looks like a fun place to while away a saturday just looking!
FredTransit Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 nah the amby wouldnt have it! She dont like sitting about. Thank god they didnt show the bit where I had to smack the minibus starter with a hammer!!
Bobthebeard Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 It's raining again and I have just seen an early Ford Transit on my street.Pack it in! I need a couple of dry days to work on my car.Thankyou. That is all.Lol
Bobthebeard Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Discovery channel are doing an ' End of the world week' thingy. No mention of old Transits yet though.... Conspiracy theory?
FredTransit Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 now come on I wont have that. You cant blame the end of tge wirld on the mk1 and mk2 transit!! Though maybe thats what it feels like in Southampton......
Albert Ross Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I reckon old cars will be in high demand after the World has ended.... Fred's got it wrapped up for getting people to Hospital.... if they start, that is.
FredTransit Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 I reckon the safest place to be at the end of the world is in the bullion van.Gotta go. Must fire up the bullion van and stock up with beans......
In The Pit Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Such a shame Ford are closing the Southampton factory, feel sorry for the people who are going to lose their jobs. Ford are closing the Genk factory in Belgium as well, its home to the MKIV Mondeo and current S max when the new S Max and MKV Mondeo begin production they will be made in their Valencia Factory in Spain. On a better note, today Nissan have announced an extra 280 new jobs at their Sunderland plant. Good to see that they are continuing to invest in Britain its just a shame all the cars they make now are aimed at people who are bonkers.
