Cheap moisture trap?

Recommended Posts

I,ve just had to steam clean a back of a van i,ve bought and it was ply lined, came up a treat but of course in this crap weather its damp and likely to stay like it for a while,i,am not using the van at the moment so what can i put in the rear to trap the damp?

I thought an open bag of salt would attract the damp?

Any other ideas...

Park it on a slope, doors downward, hoping that the moisture will gravitate to the lower points, and seep out naturally....

Park a Renault next to it, that'll attract all the moisture in the near vicinity.

Alternatively, a silica gel plastic tray thing that they sell for caravans should do the trick.

To late its already a Renault!

If all else fails, sell it to R9UKE

Tesco do a very useful version in the cheapo aisle. 97p each - bargain. Work great in the house, car, shed, Renault.

Rice poured onto a tray, or cat litter... Just chuck out and replace every now and then.

If you, like myself, are allergic to Tesco, lots of poundshops and Home Bargains/B&M do these things too.

I tend to use trays of salt, leave over night, put in oven for an hour the next day, then back in the car etc works ish, but not as good as just sticking the aircon onto recirc and leaving it for a few hours!

Can you rent/ borrow a dehumidifier? - That should dry it out nicely.
