He crashed the float and had to walk home to ring the dairy as the payphone in our estate wasn't working... How do you crash a milk float? Is your dad Michael Crawford in "Some mothers do 'ave them"?

108 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 I’m of an age to remember the last horse floats in the 1970s in north Dublin. Our local milkman wasn’t impressed at having to walk back to where he left the new fangled electric float. His previous horse would dutifully follow him up the road as he worked. eddyramrod, LightBulbFun and Mrs6C 3

bunglebus Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 There are currently 13 proper milk floats for sale on eBay. None are a bargain, £20k?! Actually there is one non-runner at £1200 with no bids...
fraser.innes.3 Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 I was a milk boy in 1982. I used to be allowed drive it by Willie the milkman. I once got it up to 40mph down clermison hill in Edinburgh. Funniest moment was when Willie was going round a small roundabout in East Craigs, and rolled it Luckily I wasn't in it!Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk Alusilber and somewhatfoolish 1 1

If the batteries are with it as well, then it's a bargain. It's the same model as mine, though four years younger. LightBulbFun 1
