Autoshiter Offers Free Stuff - More Pics

Well here goes nothing. I've nearly finished moving out of this house and into my parents spare room. Unfortunately, I'm tied to the place on paper until the end of January but that gives me time to make the place look as good, if not marginally better, than when I moved in.

So, up for grabs (I'll add pics later/on request) is some spectacular furniture that would grace any Autoshiter's abode.

TAKEN - Solid pine pedestal table. Seats 4 but has an extra leaf so you can pull it out from a circle to an oval-ish shape to seat 6-8 people. Quite large at something like 43" across, I'll measure it properly and edit accordingly, but it's about that size.

TAKEN by Mk1_4dr - Large 3 seat DFS type sofa. Purple, with slightly faded fabric, but still well sprung with excellent amounts of squish still left in it. I can sleep on this comfortably (and did for the first few nights I moved in before my bed got here) so it even doubles up as a single bed. It's like this, but bigger, and with seat cushions (this is the 2 seat one a friend adopted).

TAKEN - Large 1940s/50s veneered cocktail cabinet. Original peach flourescent light and wiring (but not plug) in the cantilevered central decanter and drink mixing part. Two massive drawers at the bottom, smaller drawers at the top and large side cupboards with a central glass-door-fronted display area with red striped mirror glass bottom. Only missing the original lemon squeezer and the glassware it originally came with, has the cocktail sticks/stirrers intact.

Victorian Canadian made Harmonium/Reed Organ. This is a superb piece of furniture that needs some attention to the inner workings. It is restorable and you can get half the keyboard to play. It is a very heavy piece of furniture being solid wood and nicely carved. Originally had a triptych type mirror on the top which has been replaced with a sympathetic top a long time before I obtained it.

TAKEN by Albert Ross - 4 Ikea folding chairs. Had these ages, they're in good condition and suitable as emergency extra festive season seating, or for use on the lawn when having a barbecue, as we have many times in the past.

Sorry, no car stuff up for grabs. All of the above is definitely available until the middle of January, possibly until the end of January. Please comment here or drop me a line if any of it is of interest. I'll get some pictures taken for the stuff that isn't illustrated. I was going to put prices on it all but really, I just want it gone and ideally not to landfill/bonfire. If it isn't taken by the time I've vacated the property it will just be left behind.

All items are located in Bolsover, Derbyshire, which is just off junction 29a of the M1.

The cocktail cabinet sounds intriguing... but I shall resist all that is in me to ask for pictures of your organ. :P

Actually, the IKEA folding chairs too... As soon as I have non-fucked transport I can do summat about it!

I too could be very interested in the drinks cabinet and also the sofa...

If there's owt left after us shiters have had first pick, Freecycle is probably a good bet. Mrs Skizzer and I shifted some stuff that way after we got married and combined our two homes into one and it worked very well.

GLWTgiveaway + move :)

Well the drinks cabinet got snapped up by a non-Autoshiter who's into his cocktails (good!). Pine table is off to St Vincent's charity shop tomorrow, they're collecting it.

Big purple sofa still available, so Mk1_4dr has dibs on that, but collection is up to you since I have no suitable vehicle to move it with... would love to deliver it on the roof of the Princess, but she's out of action atm.

If anyone wanted to collect anything and needs my help loading up a vehicle, it'll have to wait until at least next week as I've gone and bust the ligament in my knee again so cannot drive and can hardly walk. Funtimes. I'll still get some snaps taken of the big furniture, particularly the drinks cabinet, so you can see what it is I'm talking about.

Edited to add: Albert has dibs on the Ikea chairs.

Meh, its upto you. I could drop it down this weekend (though, Iam pressed for time as I've not struck a bat with Christmas presents yet).

I could meet you half way? where about would be good for you? I live in the centre of Wakefield (10mins from D Hirst)

@Albert: If it helps, I can shift the Ikea chairs to my new abode and store them until you can collect, still just off the M1 here, but junction 30 instead.

Right.... I need to go North AND South.... I have a sickly engine... but... I might have to (borrow my Focus off the Wife) go to Matlock for gaskets/pistons, and also, Featherstone... so.. I will keep you both posted!

It's looking likely that I have use of the car tomorrow morning...... is that any good to either of you? PM me a phone number on here or FB if you got me on there... I shall attempt to get my arse in gear!

I can be around, I'll drop you a PM with details. I probably should take tomorrow off as I've probably done a bit too much today and probably shouldn't be driving with my gammy knee but balls to that, can't be doing with sitting idle and I'll be able to move a few more bits and bobs from the house (not that there's much beyond the Princess to shift now)... anyway, I'm rambling, PM heading your way shortly, Albert.

Edit: I've added some pictures of the Cocktail Cabinet. I'm sure people will enjoy seeing it in all it's splendour. I'm unbelievably gutted I have to part with it, but at least it will be going to a good home where it should be used and respected.

I can get some for you (not right now, I'm not at the old house) since the stuff that was packed around it isn't anymore. If memory serves, it was made in Canada and imported for sale in Birmingham sometime about 1880, I did do some research on it a while ago, but I've since lost the details I'd discovered... I'll get some snaps of the makers mark on the deck and that sort of thing for you.

Chairs collected, jolly nice to meet to meet you. The weather became even MORE atrocious as the day wore on, and I managed to actually buy the Wife's Christmas presents. I went to the best used vinyl shop in Christendom, and filled up on Bay City Rollers, David Cassidy, and MUD..... Hope she bloody likes it! (Apparently she did in the 1970s....)
