Mystery rumble - any ideas?

Recommended Posts

So, my wife's Nissan Pathfinder has started grumbling. Above about 50mph, if you back off the accelerator and just cruise, there's a low rumble, with a pitch consistent with vehicle speed, not engine speed. Give it a bit of right foot and it disappears. Any ideas? I'm thinking dodgy prop U/Js but any advice more than welcome.

It's not tyres as i replaced them today - they were due anyway. I'm pretty sure it's not the coolant-in-transmission issue either.

^^LMAO

Just to add a pointless agreement post, I'd echo the others and say a propshaft joint. Sounds like its activated when torque falls away.

How long is it since you checked your grungle pins?

There's four on a Pathfinder.

Good suggestion. I'll get some at the shop tomorrow, i need to go in to get a long stand and a tin of tartan paint.

Could you pick up a bag of sparks and a left-handed screwdriver while you're there?

Cheers...

I could do with some sky hooks if they've got any in. Oh, and a round tuit, keep meaning to get one of those.
