Can you (still?) buy a decent MK1 Fiesta for around £500?

And believe it or not 4 years ago I struggled to sell a freshly MOT'd and taxed Mk1 for £150....... all because her indoors didn't want it........she now has a Mk2

My friend at LB Metals got a MK2 in this year. I had been aware of it for a while sat in a hedge but couldn't locate the owner. Any way it transpired that he died and when the family sold off the estate, off to the scrappy it went. But it's a basket case - something I'd buy but wouldn't reccomend to a friend. It wants at least inner and outer front wings, sills, inner rear arches and some remedial work to floor and a full mechanical overhaul. It's blue and for sale if anyone is totally nuts!

My MK2 cost me £150 but it was from a friend who was going to scrap it anyway, and it has got an MOT fail sheet with 7 items on it, all pretty much (comparatively) small bits of welding, mechanically it is fine! But yes, part of the reason I agreed to buy it was the bargain price.....

Just out of curiosity, the blue Fiesta MK2 you mention SambaS, where is it and how much are they looking for? I am always on the look out for a spares car of some sort.

I have seen some young lads with mark 1 Fiestas in Ipswich...I guessed it had finally made the retro scene and rightly so.

 

There's a couple i often see driving about by young lads here in Ipswich, I pass this one everyday as It's on my road, It looking a bit tattier now then when it first appeared about 8 months ago.
