SambaS
I've a friend who's 17 and would like one for his first car.
SambaS
The key points would be that it was at least MOT worthy and not terminally rotten. That constitutes decent in my eyes
ashmicro
Maybe if you're lucky. Values seem to be on the up, though, as they seem pretty popular with the OSF types for OMG Zetec conversions.
Mike D
No chance! You'll struggle to get a knackered mk2 for that money!
Albert Ross
This changed hands recently for £1400. Needed suspension work, brakes, and a little welding..... and still needs more to make it 90%.

trigger
Even project cars go for over £1000, you can get lucky but they are few and far between.
Morgan84
There is a better chance of getting a ex granny MK2 which will still be a runner, but be brewing up for some cosmetics and work.
whitevanman
And believe it or not 4 years ago I struggled to sell a freshly MOT'd and taxed Mk1 for £150....... all because her indoors didn't want it........she now has a Mk2
SambaS
That is WELL FIT! I think he'd be over the moon with that. I think the current budget is £800This changed hands recently for £1400. Needed suspension work, brakes, and a little welding..... and still needs more to make it 90%.
SambaS
My friend at LB Metals got a MK2 in this year. I had been aware of it for a while sat in a hedge but couldn't locate the owner. Any way it transpired that he died and when the family sold off the estate, off to the scrappy it went. But it's a basket case - something I'd buy but wouldn't reccomend to a friend. It wants at least inner and outer front wings, sills, inner rear arches and some remedial work to floor and a full mechanical overhaul. It's blue and for sale if anyone is totally nuts! HillmanImp
This any use. If its still for sale its been there for over a month. Maybe make a silly offer if its been up that long. I would only show it to him if he promises not to barry it though. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C334084 My mate was looking for one for his wife about 3 years ago and he found a few immaculate pov spec Mk1s for under a grand. This one sold for £500 recently: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mk-1-Ford-Fiesta-/261110776808 And this for £1,150! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1982-MK1-FORD-FIESTA-XR2-BLACK-/251163359374
brammy777
My MK2 cost me £150 but it was from a friend who was going to scrap it anyway, and it has got an MOT fail sheet with 7 items on it, all pretty much (comparatively) small bits of welding, mechanically it is fine! But yes, part of the reason I agreed to buy it was the bargain price.....Just out of curiosity, the blue Fiesta MK2 you mention SambaS, where is it and how much are they looking for? I am always on the look out for a spares car of some sort.

pandarus
I forgot how good the mark 1 xr2 looked. I have seen some young lads with mark 1 Fiestas in Ipswich...I guessed it had finally made the retro scene and rightly so.
Partridge
This just needs a bit of Autoglym and some WD40 and you’ll be away. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-FIESTA-M ... 0776808%26 I wonder of they’re doing buy one get one free on the TR7s? And show him this if he fancies a challenge-not sure if it’s for sale, mind. http://www.flickr.com/photos/leicester- ... otostream/
