The saf reality is that it will probably be of the same ilk as a perodua, build quality of a cracker toy and unable to pull a greasy stick from a pig's bumbox.

Thanks to high import tariffs, Perodua have no real competition in the Malaysian market, that's why they've been pumping out shit cars for decades. Dacia, on the other hand, have a lot of rivals, from Lada and Chery through KIA/SEAT to whichever mainstream brand is getting rid of cars at the end of a model run/unsold fleet orders etc. And they've been doing well, because, unlike the fancy turbos and semi-automatic boxes and stuff, the bare-bones Renault mecanicals aren't too bad.
