Renown replacement , photo now uploaded!

After the debacle with our local DVLA refusing to register the Renown, I did a deal with a 1953 Riley RME, that had been converted to a two seater sports special. Because it retained all of the original running gear [apart from an alternator] they've agreed to register it. It went in for it's inspection yesterday, and only failed on 3 fairly minor points, which will be sorted this weekend.

1] Out of balance rear brakes

2] Small exhaust leak

3] Bottom of steering column a bit close to wiring loom.

Anyway, I'm sure you good people would like an eyefull of said motoring wonderfullness, which brings me to the photo upload question. If I have a photo stored, as say riley6 on my PC, what tags do I need to put at each end to upload it onto here [if this is possible!]

Everyone will have their own favourites, I've always found Photofukkit to be a bit of a faff.

http://imgur.com/ is good, you don't need to open any account, just upload or drag & drop from a folder.

You can either upload from your PC or the web, click on the 'large thumbnail' link at the bottom of the links section and use the BBCode links, you get a nice forum-friendly 640x480 sized pic.

Photo of the new beast.................Once it's finally passed, might look at fitting a door or two, and maybe re-designing the rear bodywork, as it's not too pretty. Riley twincam is a sweet engine, but the manual advance / retard is a bit of a pain.

FTFY

Looks quite a jolly thing. Can an automatic advance/retard dizzy be fitted? Pretty sure the last RM I drove didn't have any manual timing adjustment (was a late RME).

I'm doing some research at the moment.........

I love manual advance/retard. Nothing nicer than switching off the ignition on a long down slope overrun, then retarding the ignition all the way and switching the ignition back on...

Especially rewarding when there are lots of people around.

I find most cars give a generous bang without needing to retard the ignition... (my 2CV started doing it on the way back from Switzerland after the ignition kept cutting out on corners. That was exciting!).

That looks like a fun machine (until it starts raining)!

It's a bit agricultural in places..the front wings are fixed, and don't turn with the wheels, but unlike some other "specials", it drives / steers really well, although a tad bouncy at the rear, mainly due to the taxi spec tyres, which have virtually no give in the sidewalls. Would look nice on painted wires, but .....££££££££££
