Gee Whizz battery change?

Recommended Posts

Someone's asked me if I would replace his G Whizz batteries, lead acid apparantly, £800 ish for the set, I assume it's just a case of swapping them over before generously offering to dispose of the old ones and hightailing it to the nearest scrappy where I can weigh them in for big wonga.

I quoted a couple of hours, am I right in thinking it's an easy job, I'm not going to have to remove the body from a chassis or anything like that am I?

replace the batteries with a Briggs & Stratton for the lulz, NO MORE ARSING ABOUT WITH WIRES

Piece of piss then, that's good. Lithium would be great, the difference between lith and lead on electric bikes is like night and day, ideal answer would be to nick a filthy smokey old diesel generator with no silencer off a building site to tow behind and power the Whizz, cop that LEZ.

Lithium batteries are a terrible idea; they'll ruin the weigh-in win next time you get the job...

I reckon that two stroke Diesel Electric Gee Whiz is a brilliant idea. First one to build it wins a packet of Chocolate Hobnobs.

I can't be certain (too far away, shit eyesight) but there's something very G-Whizz looking at a scrapyard in Ellesmere Port. If I remember to take my binoculars to work next week I'll try and have a shufty.

I took a couple of goosed old Cortina batteries to the scrappy last week and got £7 each for them. Happy days. I used to just ditch them at the local tip!
