Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Pistonheads a forum for people who think computers that also kind of move as a side effect are cars? Don't they list the really exciting cars under 'Boring Stuff' and the boring stuff under a shitload of other rather pointless categories?

There are a large number of posters there who own unimpressive spec BMWs from the company car scheme. They regard electric windows and air con as essential as wheels. If someone mentions that they are considering a car made before 2008, they will post about crash safety and how driving anything without ESP, ABS, SRS, UKWMO and CONELRAD is like playing Russian roulette with every chamber loaded. They want winter tyres made compulsory and think self driving cars are a good thing.

 

They drag the place down a bit but it's otherwise enjoyable.

Basically Pistonheads is just like Autoshite, but arguing over whether a Lamborghini is better than a Ferrari instead of whether a Marina is better than a Lada. However one does not have to dig too deep to find:

That's because Autoshite has points and a condensor, not an Electronic system with a coil pack and numerous fucked sensors uner the bonnet.

Judging by the other thread, Autoshite was believed to have points, but while investigating an ignition fault was discovered to have an unbranded electronic ignition system fitted by a previous owner. It requires an unobtainable special coil and all the wiring is brown.

I dig up this thread to note another reason for Autoshite being MOAR BETTERER than Pistonheads.  On Pistonheads, there is a special page that tells me that I am Billy No Mates.  This is actually untrue, as I am Billy No Mates' less popular younger brother, but never mind that, because here on Autoshite I have found a page that tells me that I have an actual friend!  OK, it's only Dr Mike Oxgreen, but beggars can't be choosers.
