Also, J-reg R4? One for the late registration thread surely?

Sort of....

UK only got R4s until '86, production finished in 1992 and that one is a French import rather than a UK car than hung around for a few years.

I came down the A1M this afternoon behind a Dutch DS, presumably heading for the ferry at Hull. How fast can these things go - i could hardly keep up with it

I never realised that the track at the rear is (or appears) a good deal narrower than at the front.

Wait till my new engine is run in and I will show you.

Rear track narrower for teardrop aerodynamics. Requires XTRA parking SKILZ.

I got back this evening, had a really good time, didn't take many pictures and accidentally left my camera on the wrong mode so the colours are a big wrong i some pictures (my apologies!).

Went in my van, set up in a high corner of the camping field, so had a really good view over the whole site - it was huge and really well organised, I didn't have to queue, which meant my van didn't backfire! There was a real ale tent, nice selection of food and some amazing cars. Floating around the campsite, there were a few non-citroens sneaked in, such as this lovely mercedes camper van:

P8091109.jpg

The friends I was with brought a DS20, a GS Special, a GSX and a 2cv - thanks to bravery on the part of the owner I got to drive a DS which was a fantastic experience - semi-automatic with a little mushroom brake pedal (VERY good brakes).

P8091101.jpg

Here's a couple of Panhards:

P8101139.jpg

There were some great catering wagons, I'm not sure why I didn't take photos, but they included a couple of H vans, a Fiat 900? / Amigo thingy and this land rover featuring a large chimney for the pizza oven:

P8101125.jpg

Over the weekend I developed quite a soft-spot for all the tractions - there were quite a few frayed / shabby ones that were obviously well used and had toured the world.

P8101123.jpg

P8101121.jpg

CXs were in abundance too, this one did a full tour of the site showing off the ability to drive with a wheel missing:

P8101118.jpg

This was was just stunning:

P8101124.jpg

This little Visa GTI was camped close to us:

P8091102.jpg

The exhibition of cars was great too, you could get really up close to them - my favourites were this G-Van which ran a 2cv engine:

P8101130.jpg

As well as this Cocinelle prototype:

P8101131.jpg

Imagine if this had gone into production? Sainsburys car park would look like something out of the Jetsons.

There was a DS prototype there too which was running a V4 engine which had a supercharger that in turn had its own single cylinder engine running it and stop-start technology.

Also this SM was for sale for £24,950, which when compared to the '11 reg DS3 Racing parked next to it for just shy of £20 grand seemed almost a bargain.

P8101136.jpg

Also the real ale bar was awesome - but possibly damaged the organs I need to sell in order to afford the SM.

Dont know what time you left today or how many of 'yous' there were there Jimcit but I saw a van just like yours today going past Donny on the A1 at tooth hurty this afternoon when driving up from Nottingham in the Audi Coupe.

Saw lots of Citroens on the way up and down including a Traction Avant broken just before I saw the white van.

I don't think there were too many Acadianes there - I don't remember seeing another white one (unusual because they're nearly all bloody white), so it might well have been me, although think I may have left a little later than that - I was driving along with a white GS and a Grey 2cv trying to keep at an acceptable motorway pace.

Didn't see the broken down traction - that's wrecked my romantic image of them circumnavigating the globe without a hitch.

I went.

It was good.

Props to Mr DW for spotting that the CCC had FAILED to recognise that it's the BX's 30th birthday this year (they didn't even have a BX in the museum, shame). So instead of joining the "modern" parade, Dollywobbler arranged a BX one ... round the campsite to gather a few more then a conga line through all the busiest areas. We even made it onto the official DVD apparently. Well done that man, I can't remember the last time I have grinned so much.

Yes, that was a shame. However, I don't think it was a CCC failure as such, but more a failure of the BX section of the club to organise something as it was really their responsability to approach the ICCR people.. No special feature for 30 years of the BX has even been in the magazine.

Neil's A reg BX should have been in the museum as ot was a Citroen UK launch car.

They did have a very pretty cake on the Saturday.

All in all a very well organised show.

Dunno about the magazine, but I think something was tried, and the banner draped over the Green Tiger's bonnet during the parade was prominently displayed outside the BX club's line up at the camp area and attracted some photographers - but don't think they got any further. Yeah, Neil's BX in the museum would have been perfect! The cake was organised by a BX clubber and the remnants only narrowly avoided being BBQ'd later that evening I believe

The organisation was excellent. There was even loo roll most of the weekend (in the ones nearest us anyway) - and the power shower was much appreciated the morning after the ceilidh!

I was in Harrogate at the weekend as I was visiting a friend and his family. I knew about this gathering as it been mentioned on here. I knew it was also very unlikely I was going to attend though as other things had been organised by mein hosts... I had made a note to keep my eyes open for a Citroen or two of interest...It didn't take long as I went past the showground in the Panda 750. Traction and an Ami waiting to cross the traffic at the Sainsburys, couple of CX and a 2CV van as I was going across the stray. I was quite pleased with that.

Me and Ed walked into town for a few beers on Friday night. The place was swarming with french tat, so I took a few pictures.

On the wander back to Ed's I took a few more pics on the back streets...

Not the best but it was dark

On Saturday afternoon we went out for more ale and to watch the Brazil/Mexico match. This then turned into sitting outside various pubs, ogling the fine ladies :lol: and watching loads of old citroens come and go - to round off a great afternoon, we then wandered back to watch Mo Farah in the 5k.

Saturday teatime and the Tractions are all back at The Crown...

You can probably imagine the sort of state I'm in after five days and four nights of this event. The word 'wibble' seems appropriate.

Quick highlights. I've not even looked at my camera yet, so pics will have to follow later.

Seeing a cavalcade of GSs which included TWO Birotors (there were three at the show in total that I saw) and an M35 (the Ami Wankel coupe thing).

Seeing said cavalcade get a bit stuck because there was a half-track Kegresse being driven the other way!

Seeing that long CX beavertail driving around with a bright Orange CX on the back. With people in it! They were drumming up publicity for their running of this event in the Netherlands in 2016. I am so there.

The entertainment. It included the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain but there were great bands throughout the meeting and they all went down an absolute storm. It was very easy to forget this was a car show. Incredible.

Pics will have to wait as I'm utterly broken and need sleep.

Before I go, just edited it with another favourite. As mentioned, I organised an impromptu BX cavalcade as there didn't seem to be a specific BX one and I though we deserved more than to just be grouped in with 'other.' Apparently as we passed one trade stand, a trader was heard to say "why did they choose that shit one to lead it?" That'll be my green-striped beauty then! It was leading because I was leading the thing, and no-one else fancied having a banner hopelessly attached to the bonnet of their car. That was sensible of them as the wind kept blowing it up and I couldn't see who I was about to run over. It was deliciously crap.

I clocked two UK registered gold ones and a gunmetal grey one which I think was on either a Danish or Dutch plate. I did get a photo but my FTL had shat most of its film out by this stage.

Some pics. This is a twin-engined 2CV Sahara - one of around 1000 built. My wife found this very boring.

394535_10151168932888200_1762928862_n.jpg

That beige BX of Mr Citroen. My wife found this very boring.

540261_10151168943833200_540578683_n.jpg

A really ugly Traction and an even uglier DS3. My wife found both cars very boring.

376643_10151168944053200_1783193800_n.jpg

A nice selection of Visas including a rare pick-up. My wife found all of these to be very boring.

539183_10151168944358200_38399769_n.jpg

An awesome slab of beige! My wife found this very boring.

229010_10151168944838200_88424326_n.jpg

There was a shuttle bus into town. It was a Leyland National 2 on one of the days! My wife found this terrifyingly boring.

386790_10151168944998200_1611111347_n.jpg

Insanity. I want one. My wife found this vaguely interesting but quickly decided it was impractical.

480076_10151168945733200_1383713239_n.jpg

The greenest car I've ever seen. My wife agreed.

417225_10151168946383200_626971594_n.jpg

A fully working Kegresse. My wife wasn't as interested in this as I was but did admit that it wasn't boring.

400380_10151168946668200_2023402795_n.jpg

Wow! A Visa with a louvre! My wife stomped off to find a cup of tea.

300866_10151168947003200_809015801_n.jpg

A Toyota trying to be a Citroen Ami. My wife missed this as she was tea-hunting.

428872_10151168947718200_78409117_n.jpg

Bonkers. Citroen developed this V4 engined DS in hte 1960s. It's a two-stroke and has a separate 200cc engine to drive a supercharger and the alternator/hydro pump. In the end, they realised that it would be cheaper and easier to just make a short-stroke four-cylinder engine, so they did. My wife found this very boring.

559091_10151168941613200_1760819306_n.jpg

The G van was developed in 1947 and was a scaled down H van with 2CV running gear. Yes, an entire 9bhp! For some reason, this proved utterly inadequate so they never built any more of them. My wife found this quite cute.

484473_10151168941363200_699931355_n.jpg

Citroen had some bonkers ideas for city cars. 2CV power again. My wife considered it an ideal replacement for her Mini.

Double LOLvrons. I wonder how they get that loooong CX on the ferry. Oddly enough the owner is called Breed - wide in Dutch.

Did anyone see this Traction?
