Mini test - the worst BX in the world

Oh...get one now while they are cheap!

I had 2 BXs years ago and absolutely loved them; they really are very hard to fault, and have the best seats of any of the cars I've had. Both mine bit the dust with rear radius arm bush failure, quoted stupid money to get fixed and I couldn't do it.

I had an 'R' reg 1900RD and loved it.

Unfortunately it met an early demise in the lakes due to a lack of green fluid.

Not LHM but coolant :)

It wasn't me driving, I was working and the rest of the family went off on holiday with it.

I bought it from dog owners and never did get rid of the doggy smell.

I had a D plate GTi 8v. It was cheap and quite good fun. I'd have another.

I had a mk2 14RE in pensioner pale blue metallic (F846LPH). It broke down when I test drove it but I bought it anyway, for some reason. I loved it when it worked but it tended to conk out quite a lot with an elusive intermittent fuelling problem. I gave it to my sister in the end - she hated it .

They currently have two BX's in Jackson's scrapyard in Deeside - one is a Meteor, the other is some random low spec, but both are early models.

There is a really nice meteor for sale on carandclassic at the moment.375 quids and many new parts and recent service...TGS XU engined 1.6...mechanically tough as old boots.97 bhp so the same as the 1.7 turbo d BUT without the turbo lag and also a lot lighter....no complex EFI either just a ruddy great solex twin chimney carb. The meteor TGS is a 'semi' tuned 1.6 and belts out considerably more HP than the normal 1.6

This is a sensible bargain for anyone after a BX

I bet one of them is the one I tried to prise the little rear quarter plastic covers off once. Obv. it just snapped in my hand so I jogged on and pretended it wasn't me.
