Renishaw Hall car show

After work on Wednesday, I went along to what I expected to be a small, local show. Turned out to be a really superb show with astonishing numbers of vehicles and, as an unexpected bonus, I was asked not to park in the public car park, but to put the 25 amongst the exhibitors! I took well over 300 photos (!!!!) and it's a stuggle to decide which to post on here. So, bear with me, and hope I don't bore you all!! But, where to start?

Ok, let's start with a few nice Audis:-

And, sticking with the "A"s, some Austins! :-

1st, a very pretty Nash/Austin Metropolitan

Smart Cambridge

Landcrab

And very cute A35

What about some BMWs?

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Or, maybe you prefer Fiats?

Never seen one of these 1800 Coupes before. LOVELY!!

Posted Image

Posted Image

And I LOVE this Arbarth 1000. Surely, it began life as a 500, or maybe a 600?

Posted Image

Posted

nice pics, the abarth is based on an 850,and the other fiat is a 124 spider.

Fords in all shapes and sizes!!

Have photographed this '40 Coupe before, but couldn't resist it!! How STUNNING is this car? Must be the most flawless black paint job ever, and the detailing is perfect. I wouldn't dare take this gem out of the garage!!

This is the right way to rod a Pop:

Posted Image

and this is the wrong way!! A whale-tale, ffs!!

Posted Image

Posted Image

This Mk 2 Zephyre not quite as nice as it looks- lots of filler!

Posted Image

This, on the other hand, is stunningly perfect!

Posted Image

complete with it's triple-carb Aquaplane head 8)

Posted Image

Solid Mk 3

Posted Image

Amazing, better-than-new, '65 Mustang

Posted Image

Posted

More Fords- appologies to all those who's hackles rise at the sight of Escorts!! Can't help but be impressed when they're this good, surely?

Some nice Cortys and Grannies:

and a trio of slightly more exotic Fords:

That's all- for tonight at least! More to follow.

Great stuff 55bloke, I bet that stunning mk2 Zephyr/Zodiac with the triple aquaplanes would sound lovely 8)

That be-spoilered Pop is just so wrong. The rear lights look like they've been chosen by a 5 year old.

 My thoughts precisely!!

The "RS200" is a Subaru underneath.Must be what people do when they get bored of making Ferraris out of MR2's and 406 coupes...:roll:

Posted Image

Is that yellow MkI sponsored by AUTOSHITE?? :D

Great pics!

You could get a Banham "RS200" kit that used the Maestro as a base a few years back! GR8 4 1275CC OR DIESEL CLUBMANS.There's an Audi 90 quattro nestling between the two "originals" in the 4th pic of the first set - wonderful!

Wow, thats a turnout for a show on a Wednesday evening!!

Got a few mins before going out on the usual weekend chores, so here's a few more pics. Anyone like Jags?

This one, I suspect, will produce a "love it or hate" kind of reaction. I love it!!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Beautuiful!!

Posted Image

A rather less cherished example

Posted Image

Solitary Honda

Posted Image

Stack-light Merc

Posted Image

Beautiful coupe

Posted Image

Like the Escorts, I know MGs aren't always appreciated on here, but surely these 2 chrome-bumper V8s are things of beauty?

Posted Image

Posted Image

Lots of Minis attending, but couldn't help smiling at this comedy example

Posted Image

Posted

Beautiful Manta- lusted after these since they 1st came out

Posted Image

Couple of nice P6s - a 2.2 and a 3.5

Posted Image

Posted Image

The only other Renault appart from mine- nice unmolested 5 turbo

Posted Image

Nice Alpine

And Rapier

Couple of contrasting Avengers

Though, the "rat look" seems to be spreading!

Posted Image

Gorgeous PA Cresta- want one soooooooo bad!!

Posted Image

Can't decide if I like this Mk 2 Cav or not!

Posted Image

Posted

Ok, I know we're not supposed to like VWs, but this very early small-window Beetle is a stunner!

Posted Image

And, even more controvercially, I found myself drawn to the amazing numbers of VW "Splities" in attendance. Where do they find them all?

This one was gorgeous, inside and out

Posted Image

As was this

Posted Image

Don't think I've seen a pick-up before

Posted Image

Semi-rat look

Posted Image

About as ratty as it gets!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted

How about a couple of Volvos?

Posted Image

Posted Image

And, in total contrast, a bunch of Yanks!

Ford Fairlane showing the queue of vehicles entering

Posted Image

Not sure if this is a Dodge Charger?

Posted Image

Spectacular Edsel- bit of a puzzle why they were such a flop. No better or worse than their contemporaries I shoudn't have thought?

Posted Image

Lincoln

Posted Image

My all time fave Yank is the '57 Chevy- here a splendid 2 door sedan Belair

Posted Image

And here a stunning 2 door soft top Belair

Well, I think I'd better stop there before I crash the site! Hope you enjoyed.

Wow, that's an excellent selection, better than some weekend shows I've been to 8) Definitely like the Integra. One of those might have to be a future Mash purchase....

Posted

I'd love one, but only an Australian Market Rover badged one. A fine specimen of OBSCURUS SHITEUS if ever I saw one.

Posted

Woof!!!! That is amazing!!! "Hi m8 wud u tek £100 buy it now!!11?? can cum round wiv hi-ab in 5 weeks time?"

Posted

Ha, that's brilliant. Very tidy example too. Want it.It even looks home-made too; an Integra with Rover badges stuck on the back! Don't recognise the nose badge though, different to the others I've seen.

Posted

Yup, I like that customised Series 1 XJ. And lots of the others too, non-Tiger Avenger and the Manta especially.

Posted

This was a factory special edition 'Calibre' - Not seen one for years and thats a stunner.
