Shite in Miniature II

Remember I had a broken Norev metal Renner 5? Ended up breaking it and sending some bits to a chap in Italy via a Facebook group.

So its life was

- made in France

- lived in Germany

- shipped to England

- broken for parts and sent to Italy

Pan-European!

Enjoy it while you still can.

I thought the Yanks have some white hearses? I'm probably going even more nuts.

I wasn't sure on what colour to paint it, the cream went wrong really.  Now you mention it it would look better black, it would bring out the shape of the Cadillac more. I do like the back cover, I'm thinking the aluminium from a beer can and some paperclips. I could reshape the ambulance bed to resemble a coffin. I like this thread it gives me good ideas. :-D

That 59 Caddy has nicked the back roof line from a 58 Lincoln.

American mortician fleets traditionally had double-duty vehicles, particularly in small towns, where they would offer an ambulance service (there being no NHS style provision of course) as well as their main line of business.   These vehicles were invariably not black of course but could be suitably rigged with purple drapes and the siren and any beacons normally being removable made them less conspicuously of ambulance persuasion.

Also the black communities often requested white hearses and associate that colour with mourning more so than solid black.   Most large fleets included white hearses - I saw several still in use around Memphis when I was there.   There was a Code 3 conversion available on the Solido Cadillac ambulance (a Thirties model) which was available in "Harlem" spec all-white.

That roof-line on the Superior Royale flower car (called Coupe de Fleur in the publicity material) that JM posted is indeed very reminiscent of the 1958 Lincoln hardtops and the later Mercury Breezeaway but as far as I know was completely independent on the part of Superior....

As JM says, it's an addiction. Probably some fumes from that dodgy old plastique.

That is rather lush...My saloon AMI is that fetching shade of Seventies Toilet.

Despite every other bastard in the street going full-on Blackpool Illuminations since the second week of November, last night we decided that some tasteful and low-key festivising might, after all, be in order.

This included decorating the miniature shite, which I'm quite pleased about: 1/72, 1/43 and 1/18 scales respectively.

Can't have too many loaded transporters :)

If you want another Bedford tractor unit I've got one you can have for whatever postage would cost.

It's in need of renovation.

I have purchased something oldish and Phrench and diecast, shame it is 1/50 scale but it is a Saviem wrecker, and it has some oxidisation on the jib, no transfer on one side

oh yes please! i have a serious weakness for the Bedford TK!

I wished in that partwork series they had done a UK outline car transporter using the Bedford TK cab, would have been awesomesauce in 1/43 scale

Oh shit I have just bought this......... A bloody Aldi 80 Avant! Bollocks LOL

And as my London Ailsa needed company, a WUMPT version, it appears Rapido Trains are bringing out a WUMPTY standard Fleetline in 00 scale, about bloody time LOL

Thanks Felly managed to get these from the Coventry Motor Museum for about £10 each at the time. The detail and finish is of a decent standard on all of them. The Malaga is one of my favourites or this 127 clone I forgot to include!

You know, back then you had the choice. Remember 'choice' ?

A term that becomes increasingly rare.

Also included are these wonderful LBGT decals. That's transfers for those English among you.

Sadly (for me at least) the kit represents the second car (with the Logghe chassis), not the first one that was buried near the Bakersfield track after its final crash. The plan is to use the oily bits and body from this kit and built the frame of the first car from scratch. I seriously do hope that project will go forward some time.

Today I got me this Dub in full Paedo spec from one of the last remaining model shops in the North West.

I had that 127 clone too, miss em all, I've managed to fit 102 diecasts in the cabinet, all but the very top sheld being 1/43. and there is room to tweak shelf spacing and get another shelf in! Looked on Argos, a smaller cabinet with just 6 shelves was £76.99!

Nice hauls there Christian btw

Yo Felly we both have exactly the same 2 ABC Ailsas, both purchased in the same order too! Love the Schabak stuff too.
