By the way - apparently that Ferrari we drove past on the Crap Convoy to the museum was being filled up with fuel by Jeremy Clarkson - a well-known Polonez fan. I bet he was feeling very jealous as our cavalcade of rusty tat pootled past.

There was a Ferrari? I only remember our awesome convoy of the best* cars** in Wiltshire...

Wow - what a cracker day out! I had an amazing time, and as has been said over and over, VERY good to meet everyone properly!

Did anyone find any lost property? I tend to become somewhat random as Saturday nights progress, and seem to have lost my favourite black denim jacket...

Many many thanks to Andy for such a welcoming setup, and big hellos to everyone I met!

Regards

Chris

Chris - it was found on Sunday morning and handed around at the museum but with no takers! The only available open car was SambaS's Polonez so it should still be on the seat in that!!!

By the way, fab to meet you, I laughed so much in your company.

I wondered what happened to that :D ! - Are you about in Devils Bridge next weekend DW, as I will be going home then and therefore in the area?

Sorry to have missed the museum on Sunday due to forgetting to set the alarm on my phone and waking up at 11:30 on Sunday morning!

Otherwise an awesome Saturday with good people, random shite and possibly the largest collection of Lancias I have seen in a long time.

Many thanks to Andy and his mates for arranging and hosting it all!

Just came on here to mention the jacket....

If you send me your address I'll stick it in the post!

Andy cheers for a great weekend... kinda worryingly fancy a Beta now though :)

Many apologies for not making it. I have a valid excuse: I spent Saturday excavating a Moskvich 412 from the Lincolnshire Fens.

It looks as though it was bastard marvellous. I've just been perving over Richard Dredge's pics. Hot Polonez action.

Firstly, I am still beside myself to have missed this event. All I can say is it’s the last time I allow anything to get in the way of an Autoshite jolly again.

Was any online payment facility set up for this event? I want to contribute still despite shameful non-attendance.

Pictures were epic, especially all those 70s Lancias, pure shite porn. GOD.

Congratulation to Betaboy for what looked like a monumental success, and I hope you do another one next year. The bar has really been set high!

Hope the delayed summer weather might mean another Autoshite outing before too long, although I doubt it will top what’s already gone.

Not this time, but I'm sure Betaboy would appreciate a contribution as he was out of pocket by a fair amount. I think any monies you'll give will go to sorting out his XJ-S steering rack, so it's a worthy cause!

Well, gentlemen, what can I say.

I am blown away by your kind comments and really glad that we all had such a great time. It really was fun meeting you all, putting faces to names and appreciating some truely splendid old chod!

Ok, so more might have been even merrier (certainly for my wallet!!), but we had quality of attendees and we can all sit back and gloat on what the others missed!!

So, next year?? I could easily be persuaded............

I'll put my name down now for that.

Me too and I'll pay in advance now if it's an option.

I did wonder when your hangover would wear off...:lol:

Seriously though, it was absolutely worth dragging that sorry arsed looking Volvo 840 miles to be part of Shitefest 2012. If you're doing it again, put me down as a definate and I'll pay in advance as I suspect that should alleviate issues!

Top weekend, you deserve a big shitey medal for your efforts. A Shitehood, perhaps?

Absolutely - defo would pay in advance!

Even though I'm clearly only allowed to drink tea/coffee or Kaliber next time...

:D

Advance payment is a very wise move I reckon. If anything, it was a bit cheap for what was included - hence the whip-round on the Sunday!

Do Castle Combe do a special 'shite' rate for track time? That'd be a good laff seeing as it's so close.
