Moar old scrap - 2002 and 2006-ish

In 2002, I somehow stumbled on an abandoned scrapyard near Droitwich. Was a marvellous place and I spent many hours jumping around on the old motors. There was even a mid-1970s Lincoln Continental that I somehow failed to get a photo of.

I went back a few years later and it had been pretty much cleared, though new cars - mainly bangers - had been dumped there. This was clearly a time when scrap values were low!

Here's a general shot.

A closer look at the Passat. Gawd knows what happened to it!

This didn't actually seem too bad.

I reckon this Leyland probably brought a few of the cars in before suffering its own FAIL.

This'd be worth money today.

Now we move on to the legendary Smiths of Bloxham, Oxfordshire. I visit here in about 2006 I think. Proper old school at the time.

In relation to your question I reckon the red car is a Maestro and the blue one an E reg Mk2 Cavalier  Guess of course :)

You're right about one of them! T'is indeed a red Maestro. Not a blue Cav though. Here's a clue that will rather give it away!

I didn't look, honest, but I recon that the red one is a Maestro and the blue one is a Mk2 fezza!

Some excellent pictures here.

The white car on the right looks like an Alfa 75. Impossibly rare now, but reasonably popular 10 years ago.

I too am liking these recent threads.

Is it perverse that I'd rather see these than car show pics????

No, as I feel regret at not taking my camera to any scrapyards when I was younger - and I've been visiting or been taken along to scrapyards since I was 3 or so.
