Motoring enforcement by cameras

I suppose we are all pretty used to speed enforcement by cameras and parking enforcement by this method seems to be catching on........but I have just had one for not wearing of seat belt.

Is this a new thing or has anyone heard of it before?

Not that new. I've heard of people getting fined for using mobiles the same way. I think those 'safety' vans can do it.

Blimey.

I used to manage a fleet of 3000 vehicles and never had one then. Now only got 400 and this is the first one of its type. Mind you totally in favour of the execution of those on phones while driving..........

Have they included a photo of this criminal activity being carried out? I’d be interested to see how good quality it is.

No.

Actually there are sneaky fuckpigs.......the Notice of Intended Prosection is an invitation to cough and take the 'reduced' consequences. Many forces imply that to see the evidence (ie the pics) you have to go to court..........I don't think this is true. It is my deeply held belief that once you have the audacity to go to court for a motoring offence you are asking for a bigger fine and max points my a magistrate who thinks you are wasting their time. The law likes to stuff people who are basically law abiding (thats why motorists get such a shagging).......you have got to be a real bad bastard to get off

Don't ask for the photo as evidence. Ask for it to "confirm who the driver is"

Don't mention the word evidence in your letter, or they won't show you.

Although, Why not just wear the bloody belt?

A few years ago I was flashed at 83 mph on the dual carriageway and decided (stupidly) to ignore the fixed penalty offer thinking there was no way the fiscal would want to take such a minor issue to court.. Wrong . The judge gave me 4 points rather than 3 for my cheek and gave me a £125 fine.

Before me was a guy who had actually stabbed a bouncer in the leg at a local nightclub.. Let off with a warning.

So .. In the eyes of the law my 83mph was more of a menace to society than somebody willing to draw a knife on a man in a club.

If you are in the habit of not wearing a belt then you should say "Its a fair cop guv, you've got me banged to rights so i'll come quiet".

Divide the number of miles you have done by the total of the fine and ask yourself if it is worth carrying on unbelted. Then consider that if you should be in an accident it is the rest of us that will be picking up the medical bill. Don't expect any sympathy.

It is not me who has sinned......and i am therefore not seeking your forgiveness/understanding/absolution!! i just manage the fleet. Original question was put out of interest because I hadn't had a seatbelt one before detected by camera.

Sorry for maligning you but it was the way it was written:
