Looking for new shite

Recommended Posts

Hopefully, ,my fleet of two have found new homes (subject to collection) and I am looking to buy my next shite. It has to be pre 1984 so I can go on my yearly pilgrimage to the Enfield Pageant of motoring and other local shows and be everyday useable. Budget of around a grand, have been trawling ebay but to no avail as yet. Need to secure within the next few weeks, any links and ideas will be greatly appreciated oh wise ones of shite! PS, am in Lowestoft in Nth Suffolk so within a reasonable distance if poss as I am not a great lover of long journeys in cars that are bound to break down when its raining! :D

Not really got owt at the moment. The Scimitar is too new, and would probably be a bit thirsty for use as a daily. Will keep my eyes open for any likely suspects.

Many thanks, hope the metrocab found a home?

You don't fancy a low-mileage blue Maestro, perhaps?

I have a MK1 Austin 1100 that I will be looking to shift on in the next few weeks - but I suppose you've done the 1100 thing already? :wink:

{day dreaming}

How much will you want for it Dicky?

About £850 or thereabouts? It'll be for sale as soon as I get my new shite up and running.

I do and I dont if that makes sense but it needs to be pre 84 so I can still do my annual trip to the Enfield Pageant and private entries have to be pre 84.

Yeah I have really and my dad has got a mint MK1 65 1100 with 24k miles on her, hence why I bought the red 1300 but thanks anyway. :D

I know of a slightly scruffier SANDGLOW Prinny 2.2 for sale for £700...

Still trying to get over bad childhood memories of a blue Princess ha ha ha. Wasnt the cars fault, was my mums but we will keep that between me and my counsellor!

Old Japanese cars seem to have plenty of support these days, and this was a popular model. This example does look lovely, but I have to question the price when even the seller is talking about new head gasket! If you can come to a suitable arrangement with him, at least you'll have a totally acceptable daily-use hatchback.

Good advice Mr Rod............

Just as a guide... I wouldn't want to pay more than half what he's asking, given that it's a gamble. But then I'm a mingy bugger! :D

If I could secure the car for that kind of money I would be very happy. Still had no contact from the seller at this time though.......... :?

It ticks a lot of boxes, very early reg T :shock: Coupe, red great body condition T+T. IMO £500 would be a fair price :wink: If you manage to get hold of the seller that is! Nearly all Jap stuff is on the rise.
