Just happened on an ad for a Simca while browsing

As above a nice 1501, 1971 asking $4000.00 It is the only simca for sale in NZ

Just imagine that in your garage. I have always thought that they look a bit like a Zephyr too

I love this site for throwing up stuff I never knew about like the Vedette. But a quick google/Wiki search soon answered all my questions

Also addressed was the reason why it looks like a 1950's Ford:-

 

"Simca acquired the Poissy factory from Ford France (Ford Société Anonyme Française, the French subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company), along with the model line, in 1954. The Vedette was therefore initially still marketed as the Ford Vedette."

 

Also built in Australia apparently as well as France !
