Probably not for anyone on here. Obv would do a Shiters discount

Nissan Micra Inspiration

1999

1.3i

Mot till April 2012

On Sorn (but cheap to tax @£130 a year)

The car has power steering, CD player with USB & Sunroof. Also has part S/H

It is a really good car and a wicked town runabout. We have had the car since March this year. Very nippy and being the 1.3 is equally good on the motorway.

My girlfriend has decided she doesn’t need her car anymore as she is commuting a lot.

Work carried out in last 9 months include;

• New Gearbox

• New Clutch

• New front lower arms

• New ball joints

• New dampers all round

• New discs and pads at the front

• New drop links for ARB

• New stereo fitted

• 2nd hand Dealer Nissan Parcel Shelf fitted with speakers

• 2nd hand OSF hub

• Serviced with new HT leads, Spark plugs etc.

Not so good points

• Power steering belt squeals

• Bodywork is showing its age with some car park dings.

• A dent has been pushed out on the side and it has broken the paint

• Needs a good clean inside

Viewing can be done most evenings. £950

Your punting it way too high mate, £750 is about right for a minter with lower miles now.

As reliable a reputation these have, and as mechanically sound this one is, I fear Felly is right.

They do seem to do well ont' 'bay though... my advice: aquire some sparkly wheel trims, wait for a ray of sun, liberaly apply eBay wax (hosepipe) for some shiny pictures, write a good listing on a 99p start and watch the bids roll in. No res, obvs.

The lack of any rent in the windscreen will also put off potential buyers to be honest.

For example, £795 gets you a very tidy V plater from a trader....

With the dents and faults you mention, you aint even going to get close to this price. The more I look, the more I think around £500 is right. Your talking a minimum of a new PAS belt (could even be the pump on its last legs), and needing a good valet, plus the broken paint which will be allowing the rust to get hold, and these Micras do rot badly.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but £50 shy of a grand?

If you are serious at trying to sell it, half a day with the vac & cleaning products work a lot better. Nobody wants to buy a cesspit, because if it is a tip inside, it immediately looks like the car has been abused. I used to work in the trade many moons ago, and people often wondered why they were offered sod all for their cars when they looked like a mobile skip. I remember once spending a whole day and a half getting a part ex car presentable as it was that bad.

Cool cheers for the advice. Never quite sure where to put them. Round here they seem to go for £££ e.g. one at dealers up the road is £1300 for V reg one.

Had to cancel the insurance so Tax disc has had to go back (hate these new laws ...seems stupid)

Will lower price accordingly...

Aye, the no insurance=no tax law is daft. Appreciated it is a visible show that a vehicle isn't insured in a way, but makes selling cars even more difficult.

I had the usual 'if only it had tax' shoppers when I was trying to sell the Escort earlier this month. As Cavette rightly stated, they'd have to have insurance to drive away anyway, then buying a tax disc is surely just a formality. I think that people still see any road tax left on a vehicle when sold is an advantage, even though these days it probably only costs the same as a tank of fuel...

I just turned down a bargain 51 plate Micra Activa, for 800 of your british Ponds --- must admit, i was very tempted, only 28,000

on the clock, nissan dealer history, tax till May, MOT till aug 2012, pale cream green colour, but it was a 3 door, and i bloody HATE micras  , so talked myself out of it.

The person concerned sold it off to "we buy any car .co.uk" as he didn't want a trail of punters ringing up / thinking abaht it/ taking test drives,

etc.etc. was I a bit silly, I Wanda ?

Look a good buy Moog. Price is a slight tad on the high side, however, 1.3 are quite popular, particularly with the Micra M0DD1N KrEW

I did try and advertise up on the Micra sport site but they have some sort of silly rule where you have to be an 'official' member to sell on there. This of course means purchasing some membership thing. I dont go on there very often and I'm too mean to be bothered buying a membership there.

Strange how some rot and some dont, mine doesnt but then ole' Ma_Sterling did say that she had paid to have the paintwork prtected or something when she first bought it. Its never been garaged (Apart from a year or two when I stored it away) there isnt a spot of rust to be found.

As KruJo said, bash on some wheel trims (preferably Nissan one if you can get some) take nice mag-like pics and you should see some strong money for it.

Good luck with sale.
